Welcome To Zeta Eta

On behalf of the women of Gamma Phi Beta - Zeta Eta Chapter at Lander University, I would like to welcome you to our site.  As president I am honored to represent this very diverse group of girls.  I am a senior at Lander majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Management.  I have held the positions of Assistant Financial Vice President, Financial Vice President and now President.   Gamma Phi Beta has provided me with so many excellent opportunities as well as helped me to develop into a strong young woman.  I hope you will take some time to view our website and get an inside feel of what Gamma Phi Beta at Lander University is really all about.

Throughout my term as President I have attended The Academy in Dallas, Texas where I learned effective ways to run our chapter as well as new ideas for recruitment and sisterhood events.  I also attended the 2010 Convention in Orlando, Florida where I was able to meet Gamma Phi Betas from all generations.   I was also able to vote on By-Laws as well as the new International Executive Council.  While at convention the Zeta Eta chapter won an award for most improved scholarship.

The Zeta Eta chapter thinks highly of our philanthropies which are Camp Fire USA and Juvenile Diabetes.  We attend the JDRF walk annually that is held in Columbia, SC and raise money to donate to this foundation every year.  We also make different items, such as pillow cases, gift bags along with letters to send to the young girls that go to camp every year.  Along with our philanthropies we volunteer around Greenwood by taking part in trash pickups and charitable events.

An essential part of Gamma Phi Beta is to create a sisterhood where strong bonds are made between girls that will last a lifetime.  The many friendships I have made within Gamma Phi Beta will last forever along with the laughs and many memories that will continue in years to come.

Gamma Phi Beta is definitely something that is a large part of each sister’s life and will always hold a special place in our heart.  I hope you enjoy our web page and please feel free to contact me at megan.riley@lander.edu.

Sincerely in IIKE,

Megan Riley

Quotes From Sisters!

"It was hard being an out-of-state student at Lander, but Gamma Phi Beta has offered me a home away from home. With these girls by my side, I am strong, confident, and never without support. I have not only made life long friends here, but have met people that I am proud to call my sisters!!" -Leah Robinson (Alpha Gamma Pledge Class)

"Gamma Phi Beta is not just about meetings, finances, and recruitment; it is about a lifetime commitment of sisterhood." - Stephanie Bennett (Xi Pledge Class)
