Thank you, JJ, for bringing in spoons!! Thank you, Sam, for the paper plates and tissues!!
Your child may need to keep a light jacket or sweater in their cubby for the remainder of the school year. Our classroom cools off and heats up quite quickly during hot weather...many children find they need layers at this time of year.
We still have many students lacking a spare set of clothing. Children this age are subject to accidents of many varieties and need to have this in their cubbies at all times.
We have a refrigerator to store lunches as well as a microwave in our classroom. We ask that you limit warm-up times to one minute. We only have thirty minutes in which to eat lunch...waiting for a turn with the microwave can seem very long to a young (and hungry!) child. In addition, we ask that you send items in a microwavable container and that they require no further preparation. We are not able to warm soups or pizza lunchables.
Time permitting, we have a snack at the end of our day during Literary Appreciation. You may send a snack with your child...they are also able to eat any lunch leftovers at this time. Children participating in the hot lunch program may want to bring a snack from home.
Thank you to our many volunteers! The children look forward to your visits each week!
