Alert Tokyo - Monster on the Move
So last Wednesday, after what seemed like ages of scooting, pivoting, squirming, and sliding around, Grady finally got it together and started crawling. Luckily Mom and Dad were sitting right there on the floor watching, so we got to see the real deal firsthand. His quality of life is greatly improved now that he can get (almost) everywhere he wants (mostly) when he wants to. He is currently pulling all the magazines off the shelf next to my desk and enjoying every second of it!
If that's not enough, Booger pulled himself to stand by the loveseat on Saturday and then let go with both his hands, looking over at us on the couch as if to say "you see it? see what I'm doing?" We were pretty excited, but I'm totally not ready for walking. Needless to say, Justin finally put up that baby gate by the stairs!
Getting BIG
Saturday, Oct 24th I woke up to hear Grady yelling for me from his room - nothing particularly urgent, just 'come get me, Mom!' I go in there to find him standing up, holding onto the railing of his crib and looking rather anxious. He must have pulled himself up (for the very first time!) but had no idea how to get back down! I should have taken a picture, but I was too excited and rescued him before I thought of it :(
Now he tries it everywhere, with moderate success. The bathtub is a favorite, with that accessible ledge right in front of his face, but when he gets up he starts to panic with his little feet slipping on the slick bottom!
