Just got the word about Mary's Mom--we send our prayers your way at this difficult time.
Ken's Mom is in the nursing home here and my Mom went quickly.So as hard as it is to see them go so fast--there are "worst" situations.

Welcome to our site! Here you'll find the latest pictures and news about our ministry in Guatemala. Visit us regularly to see what we're up to and what the Lord is doing on the mission field. Mary and I have been Missionaries to Guatemala since 1986. We started working in the mountain highlands during the civil war and are now in the rain forest region of the Peten. It is in the Peten that we have our Christian school with betwen 80 and 90 underpriviledged children. It is also the home of our central church and University of Theology and Christian radio station. AS always Mary and I like to keep all of our friends and supporters informed and up to date as to what is going on with the ministry. I was reading the post of one of our Guatemalan friends this morning and he said that the Lord is always moving and shaping and changing us and our ministries. As the world changes we must change as well. The Gospel message will never change but the method by which we take it to the world must always remain flexable and open to new methods and means to reach the unreached and touch the needy. Change is often hard to accept but when it's change directed and sent by the Lord victory and advancement will always come from it. The Lord has been making some of those changes in our ministry and it has been a little confusing at times but we can see that the Lord is taking us into many new places. Through some of these changes the Lord has set us free to reach out into other countries. Mary and I will be at the Central American conference of the Church of God in Antigua Guatemala this month meeting the pastors and leaders of all the Central American countries. Through these new relationships that will be made we will have an open door to minister in Honduras, Costa Rica, Belize, El Salvador and other Latin American countries. Another change that we had to make is we had to close the school for a few months to reorganize, and make some building updates. Mary and I have decided to turn the school over to one of our pastors and let him run with it. We will serve as advisory staff and continue with the TOCA project but we will return to our village and evangelistic ministry. All of our students who were sponsored are at local Christian schools and still receive their monthly sponsorship help. They will be returning to study with us when we re-open later this year. This brief closing has given us the freedom to make some much needed changes and also take a look at any staff changes that we needed to make. We love ministering to the children and will always be reaching out to them but we also feel the need to mentor new church leaders and reach the lost. Time is short and we must reach all those that we can reach before the return of our Lord and Savior.

Thought for the day ( study to show ourselves approved of the Lord )
Paul told Timothy to study so that he might constantly walk in the will and approval of God. A pastor friend of mine told me the other day that his dad told him years ago that " readers lead and leaders read" Romans 12:1,2 states to walk out the will of God for our lives we must renew our minds to the Word of God. The Word is inspired of God or breathed of God. Proverbs says a man is as he thinks and we think after the manner of what we have feed ourselves with. Eat junk all day and we will be fat and lazy. It is the same in the Spirit as in the flesh, we are what we eat or consume.

Mary holding one of the many needy children of Guatemala
Mary is holding a young girl here who suffered some kind of brain injury due to a fall. She 12 years old and only weighs around 35lbs. She is unable to speak but does understand you. She is completely paralized and is as stiff as a board. Her mother told us they say with an operation that cost only $1200.00 US she can be cured. How hard it is for us grasp that only 1200.00 can be such an impossible sum of money to obtain.

People of the village waiting to receive food that we had trucked in to help them until they could grow some grops. They had been a whole season without any rain which had caused all of their crops to fail or just burn up.
