Light touch is a equine term but also has a second meaning for this painting. Ms. Simon's maiden name is Light. Hence (Capturing The Light, Lighthouse Hill). Pictured in this painting is Linda's brother and nephew (Rob Light seated, Jared light in back). They are hauling milk to the city just like Ms. Simon's Grandfather Hill did! Except, her Grandfather hauled milk with many 18 wheelers to New York City. R. Light and son and Don Hill and son makes this all in the family!

Linda Simon created this painting in acrylics in 1983."American Express" a history book cover, was a college assignment for her illustration class. Linda no longer paints in acrylics. She uses a 000 paint brush and the paint is dry before it gets to the canvas. Linda now paints in non-toxic oils. Ms. Simon and her daughter Hillary live about 50 yards from the New York, Susquehanna & Western train track. Linda has a toy train extended from the ceiling of her studio. As the awesome sound of the train whistle blows passing through town....so does the toy train in the studio!

This is Ms. Simon's new addition to her family. Cooper is the son of her other chocolate lab, Thor and grandson to Thors father Jet. The puppy is about 3 months in the painting, at 1 years old he is just shy his fathers size. Cooper is as sweet as the roses he is laid upon!

Strolling along the sidewalk in a time of Victorians, this mother and baby are enjoying the day. Beautiful yellow old fashioned roses are blooming beyond the fence and Ms. Simon's black cat Salem is following along not wanting to be left behind.

The artist loves to paint flowers for her love Hillary. Hillary has all her Mothers florals blown up into posters and hung in her college soccer house apartment. Upon entering, you feel uplifted and "Happy", as if spring has sprung!
Ms. Simon's likes to put her nieces and nephews in the paintings! "Horns" was painted for her nephews. Linda loves to paint all textures, and that is what she was drawn to with the rams.
Hi Linda!
This is great! You are so talented and beautiful!

What a way to start your day with a rip in your pants! Mr. Michael Joseph was Ms. Simon's Principal in High School. This was his office and thats Linda's Senior yearbook on his desk. She was excited to "shock" him, revealing a clone of him in the painting! She has grown with her artistic ability and so has Mr. Joseph, he is now the President of New York State Board of Education!
