It has been over a year since our little Mikey left us, and we found we were missing having a pet in our life. Once we were home from Texas I was anxious to find us a nice little dog. We taked to our vet, and he suggested a mixed breed, as they have less health problems. We knew we wanted something with "poodle' in it, because Mikey was so smart.
I contacted several people who were selling their puppies on kijiji.ca. I found this little girl in Windsor. Bella is a Maltepoo (maltese and poodle), but I see very little poodle in her. Apparently the mother was a 4 lbs. maltese and the father was an 8 lb. toy poodle. We were told Bella would be about 6 pounds. Already at 4 months of age she is over 6 lbs. I am hoping she doesn't get too much bigger, but we will just have to wait and see.
Other than housebreaking Bella, she is turning out to be a very good dog. We thought we needed to get a puppy so that we could get it used to the house and the RV, and of course, all the travelling that we do. So far Bella has made one long trip to Newmarket, and she slept all the way in her bed. She was so good! She also slept all the way home! She has made some short trips and she is very good in the car. She loves the trailer, and so far doesn't cry when we leave her in it. Bella rarely barks, and we are training her to ring a bell when she wants out.
Bella fooled us all. She grew to be a big girl of 13 pounds. She has turned out the be a wonderful pet. Bella has such a happy personality. She is never cross, no matter what you do. She is very loving and always wakes us in the morning with lots of kisses!
Bella's first year has been eventful. She has travelled to Toronto, Texas, Florida and all the gulf states. She loves to ride in the back seat of the truck and never puts up a fuss. She loves the trailer and the park we keep it in. Such a doll!! We love her to bits!
