Mustangs Tradition

Since the 2000 baseball season, more than fifty LMC baseball players have taken their athletic careers to the next collegiate level and twenty-one have received All-Bay Valley Conference Honors.  Since its founding, the Los Medanos Baseball Program has also produced nineteen professional draft picks!

The Mustang Baseball Program is built upon the focus of team first, "we not me attitude" with 100% ownership of individual responsibilities and quality practice at all times!  With the proper combination of these ingredients, the Mustang Baseball Program will continue to compete at high levels of play against all California Conferences and Pacific Division teams as well as against the top teams in the BVC!

At the conclusion of the 2009 season the Mustangs final conference ranking was #1 in fielding percentage, total assists, double-plays, earned runs allowed as well as #2 in earned run average and total hits allowed! This recognition is a testament of the quality program, hard work and tradition that's in place at Los Medanos Junior College!

In addition to athletic skill development, we are responsible for instilling in our ballplayers proper attitudes towards citizenship, sportsmanship and cooperation, as well as building self-discipline and self-esteem. Our coaching staff strives to achieve these goals by always conducting a well organized and team oriented atmosphere.   Please come out and support our student-athletics ... see you at the fields!

2010 Season

Casey Coakley begins his second year as Head Coach of the LMC Mustangs after guiding his inaugural 2009 team to a 13-14 conference record and 16-24 overall. This was a substantial improvement over the previous year’s team that reflected one of the most disappointing seasons and overall records in LMC’s history … but even though there was a substantial turn-around, there is still lot’s of work to be done to make the “LMC Baseball Program” into one of the elite in Northern California.

The challenge for Coach Coakley and his assistants was to restore pride and respect back to the diamond here at LMC … this was achieved, but he and his staff won’t be satisfied until they win the Bay Valley Conference and advance deep into the regional and state playoffs!
