Welcome Star Trek Fans!
We're a Star Trek Fan Group located in the Lowcountry Region of South Carolina (Charleston/Berkeley/Dorchester area). The purpose of this group to give local fans of all things Star Trek an opportunity to fellowship with others who see Gene Roddenberry's dream as one that is not only attainable but incredibly entertaining.
My primary goal to creating this group is to help develop & expand Star Trek fandom in the lowcountry.
If you're a fanatic, fan or just plain like Star Trek in all or any of its incarnations, you're welcome.
Even if you don't like Star Trek you're welcome as our group's interests are varied. Essentially we're nerds, geeks, Sci-Fi aficianados and Pop Culture fans.
If you're interested in fellowshipping with like minded individuals, stop on by!
We'd love to have you!
Hello everyone. Summer's been a fantastically busy time for me and I've just realized that I've been neglecting this site. Well NO MORE!!!! Attached you will find our latest newsletter, published July 2010. Lots of fun facts and great information regarding the Star Trek universe.
Also, I want to bring to everyone's attention that our current charity is the Low Country Orphan Relief Society. www.lowcountryorphanrelief.org.
Lowcountry Orphan Relief, Inc. (LOR) is a non-profit organization that provides goods and services to children who have been victim to abuse and/or neglect. We work directly with other non-profits, schools, foster parents, and government agencies to identify the individual needs of these and other children in low-income situations. LOR intervenes at critical junctures in the lives of these children, with products and services that provide a strong positive impact. To ensure that abused, abandoned or neglected children coming into the system will have in their possession clothes, toiletries, school supplies and any other personal needs within 48 hours.
To own and maintain a ”clothing closet” that is staffed and supplied with essential items for abused, neglected and needy children. To organize fundraisers, raise money and secure in-kind donations. To create fun events for these children where they will be enriched, nurtured and loved. To build a new single-gender group home for girls on Johns Island. To assist existing shelters by creating on-site libraries, and purchasing items such as beds and washer/dryers for them.
Our goal is to help them with their endeavors by holding a fundraiser of sorts, by solicitating new and 'gently used' clothing, new underwear, new shoes, school supplies, and infant/toddler supplies.
I'm looking forward to doing great things with C.A.S.T. and helping such a worthy cause, Low Country Orphan Relief Society.
I'm expanding our group by moving us from the Meet-Up site to another fee based website, where I can actually purchase a domain name and have greater flexibility to get our name out there but to also be able to garner additional sponsorship.
However in the meantime I'm utilizing this website and Facebook as a means to communicate with everyone.
We are expanding and I hope you all join me on this adventure of developing Star Trek & Sci Fi fandom and gaming.

If I build it will they come?
For far too long Star Trek fans have been marginalized in Pop Culture. I mean if say Trekkie or Trekker to some folk they would roll their eyes
or look at you with pity
or just plain ignore
that fact that you've admitted to your love of Star Trek.
And it's taken some very secure people to continue to publicly love Star Trek in spite of Nemesis and Enterprise. ![]()
Well, I figured it was time, especially after the Abrams reboot, to come out of the proverbial closet and embrace my internal Trekkie/Trekker. I decided to create a fan group and I'm putting it out there...
I LOVE STAR TREK!
Now I know I'm gonna catch some flack for this but at this point in my life, I can no longer be overly concerned about what others think of me. I'm not ashamed of being a nerd and a geek.
Come join me.
Embrace your inner nerd, geek and most especially your inner Trekkie/Trekker!
We welcome you!
