The pictures above of #40 are of Tommy Walker. Tommy died in a car accident on 7-20-09 near his home in Altamont. Tommy was one of the most inspiring young athletes I've seen in recent years. To be a small guy he played very big. In watching him play if the Bulldogs were in the red zone I just knew if Tommy got the ball he was going to score. Over the last couple of years I started calling him Touchdown Tommy. That was a moniker my brother Tommy Andrews was given by Coach Charlie Wiggins during Tommy's short career at UT Martin. It meant a lot to my brother so I wouldn't have used it lightly and believed with all my heart that little Tommy deserved it and would live up to it for years to come.
Tommy I want you to know how much it meant to me to watch you play and see that great smile on your face anytime I saw you. You were an inspiration to me and I will dearly miss watching you play. The only grace I can find in this is that you just might be playing now for my favorite coach in the sky...Chris Pickett.
