Cedar Point Trip
Hey everyone, hope you all had a great 4th of July.
We have set a date of July 18th for the Cedar Point trip. We would leave sometime that morning and stay for the day and return that evening. We can receive group rate tickets but in order to do so we have to have 15 students minimum. As long as we get 15 people going it will only be $29.99 for the students (up to 18 years old) and $32 for chaperone's.
If you would like to go with us please send me an email, a text message or Facebook message to let me know as soon as possible. I have to order the tickets by next Thursday so you have 1 week to let me know.
You are welcome to invite friends to go, however I do ask that everyone limit it to 1 friend right now until we know how many people are going and that we have enough space on the bus for everyone. If we have space left I will let you know and spaces will be given to additional friends on a first come first serve basis.

Mission Trip Followup
I had put a message on the Facebook group and haven't heard anything back so I will make one more try here.
I had two quick questions for everyone.
1 - Do people want to make a Trip shirt like we have in past years? If so does anyone want to throw a design or two together and we can pick one? We usually can get them made up for around $10.
2 - Would people be interested in making a storybook of the trip like we have done in the past? A hard cover usually runs about $25 and the soft cover is around $16.
If we have enough interest we can work on getting either or both in progress, just let me know what you think.

Mission Trip - Coming Soon
Just wanted to say Thank you to everyone who got the Mission trip forms turned in so far. I only need forms from Aaron Zimmerman, Bryan Betts & Steven Scherer (if you can get them to the Church this week I would really appreciated it since I need to make copies of some of them before we leave).
I still have a few people that I will need to make a copy of your insurance card before we leave as well, but that can be done at Church on Sunday morning. Also if you haven't paid your amount owed yet we will just take care of it on Sunday morning.
Don't forget we leave bright and early Sunday morning. Please arrive at Church no later than 8am (I will be there by 7:45 at the latest). We will load up the van and depart by 8:30 to start our trip. We will be returning on Saturday the 26th and should arrive back sometime in the mid to late afternoon.

Last Meeting of the Year! & Mission Trip Info
Hey everyone hopefully you are all surviving through the week after last weekends Relay. I just wanted to let you know that this Sunday will be our last Sunday night meeting of the Year! Come join us for our last get together before the Mission Trip.
Speaking of the Mission Trip all of the forms and info are available and they are sitting on the Desk in the Youth Room. There are 4 pages to the packet so please make sure that you get all 4 of them. I will be staying after Second Service this Sunday to answer any questions that your parents may have about this year's trip.

Relay for Life
Hey everyone just wanted to send you all a reminder about this weekend.
On Saturday from 11am-2pm we will be having a Car Wash at the Church with the proceeds going to Relay for Life. Anyone who can come out and help would be greatly appreciated, don't forget the money raised will also count toward your Mission Trip fund as well.
Then at 8pm we will be meeting at the Church for our Relay for Life All Nighter. We will carpool people back and forth from the Church to the track all night. The event will end at 9am on Sunday so please plan on being picked up at that time. I will have some snacks at the Church but if you want to bring some snacks to share with everyone that would be great as well.
Please remember that we will have the same rules as in previous years:
1. NO one will be doing any driving after you arrive at the Church, if you drive yourself to the Church i will need your car keys once you get there.
2. If you are coming to stay at the Church you are staying the whole night unless I have a note from your parents saying otherwise.
3. We will have a white board setup so that everyone can mark when they are at the track and when they are at the Church, please update your status anytime you leave or arrive at the Church.
4. Bring some WARM clothes, even though it is looking like we will have some nice weather the temperature does drop during the evening so bring some clothes to keep you warm.
5. We will be staying up all night so feel free to bring your favorite game/movie/etc... so that we have something to entertain us throughout the night.

6th Grade Round-Up/Invite-a-Friend
Its time for our annual 6th grader round-up and invite-a-friend night. We will be meeting at 5 o'clock at the Church and will have pizza and snacks, we will then load up the Church bus and go over for a round of putt-putt, after that we will have a lesson back at the Church and finish the night off with s'mores.
If you are a current member bring $5 along for the evening any new guests for the night can join us for free. So if you know someone who will be going into the 7th grade next year or just a friend who you would like to invite to join us bring them along for a night of fun.

Road Rally This Sunday!
Back by popular demand it is our yearly road rally! We will once again divide into teams and collect the clues to visit all the sites that Bedford has to offer. We will meet at the Church at 5pm to split into the teams, where we end up is anyone's guess, but bring along $5 just in case you need it :) Hope to see you all there.

Easter Breakfast
We have once again been asked to help with the Easter Breakfast. It is very similar to the candlelight dinner, we basically just serve the food and then help cleanup afterwards. If you can please come and help it would be greatly appreciated. We need to server the meal at 9:30 so be there a little before that if possible, and cleanup will follow at 10:30. If you plan on helping please let me know so we have an idea of how many can be there. Thanks so much.

All good things must come to an end so here we have our last Soup Supper of the season. We are doing another Soup Cook Off since it seemed to be such a hit the first time around. Sunday March 21 Update
Just a reminder that we will be going to the deaf Church on Sunday the 21st. Please meet at LUMC at 9:30 so that we can load up the bus and head down to the Church. We will attend there 10:30 worship service and stop for a lunch afterward. Bring some money for the meal we will probably be back around 1-1:30ish.
This will be our activity for the day so we will NOT have our meeting that evening.

Mission Trip Reminder

Soup Supper #3 - Nacho Bar
Just a reminder that this week's 'Soup' supper is going to be the Nacho Bar. We will have chips, cheese, beef, beans, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and salsa for everyone to make the most delicious plate of nachos around.
We start serving at 6 so if you can come help setup, serve or cleanup it would be greatly appreciated.

Sub Sale & Superbowl Party
Hey everyone just a reminder about next weekend February 7th.
At 8:30am we will meet at the Church to assemble the subs for this year. We have 300 subs to make so if you can make it to help out it would be greatly appreciated.

Ski Trip Next Saturday
Hey Everyone, just wanted to let you know about the Ski Trip next weekend. We are going to go to Alpine Valley next Saturday the 23rd.
We will meet at the Church at 1pm as the lift tickets we get will be from 3pm - close (or whenever we decide we've had enough). It will cost $34 for the lift ticket and if you need a ski or snowboard rental it will be $25 additional (they also have helmets available for rent for $8 if you want one).
We currently have about 12 people on the list, if we get 20 it will give us a discount on the lift tickets (about $7 or $8 off) so if you haven't signed up yet or have a friend who would like to come let me know ASAP as I have to order group tickets by Wednesday if we have enough. If you have any questions let me know.
New Years Party! (updated)
Hey Everyone I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I just wanted to post a reminder that we will once again be having the New Year's party on Thursday night! We will be meeting at the Church at about 7:30pm and staying until 2010 gets here! If you have a ride picking you up try to have them there about 12:30ish.
We will have some food ready to go (of course including Youth Group punch) but if you want to bring a snack to share that would be great as well. If people want to we can get some pizza's as well.
We will have some games and things set up but feel free to bring your favorite new game or video game as well.
We are trying to get an idea of how many people are going to be there so if you are planning on coming please reply and let me know, as usual friends are welcome so just let me know if you are bringing someone else along as well.
If you plan on joining us the same rules apply as always once you get to the Church you are NOT allowed to leave for ANY reason unless your parents have spoken with ME and given you permission. We can't have people driving all over Bedford so once you arrive at Church plan on staying until the end of the evening.

Sunday the 20th
Just a reminder that we will be meeting a little bit earlier this Sunday so that we will have time to travel around town and see all the Christmas lights that are up. Meet at the Church at 6:15 so we can leave by 6:30 to see ALL the lights. Chances are that the Church bus horn will be getting a good work out! Hope you can make it.
Also don't forget that if you ordered a story book from last years mission trip they have come in. Bring your $40 and you can pick yours up now. If you didn't order one the first time around we may place a second order if there is interest so let me know.
Next two weeks...
Just a reminder about the next couple of Sundays.
Since it was the holiday weekend we will NOT have a meeting this Sunday, the 29th.
The following Sunday, December 6th, we will have the bread sale in the morning like we normally do on the first Sunday. That evening is the Candlelight dinner, we will once again be serving the dinner so please meet at the Church at about 5:30 that evening. We are serving so please dress appropriately, nice pants (NO jeans), and a nice shirt (NO t-shirts or sweatshirts). We will serve the meal and clean everything up and afterwards we will eat the left overs as well as get some pizza. We should be done around our regular ending time of 8:30.
Turkey Bowl 2009!
Just a reminder to everyone that we will once again be holding the annual Turkey Bowl Football game this Friday. Join us on LUMC field for an afternoon of fun and fellowship and hopefully we will all work off some of that turkey and stuffing from the day before. We will start at about 1pm and will play for at least a couple of hours. Join us if you can, hope to see you there.

Craft Show Cleanup / Saturday night get together
Hey everyone just wanted to put a reminder up about this weekend's activities.
Saturday at 4 o'clock we are needed to help cleanup the craft show stuff. We really just need to put the tables away and get all of the stuff put back into the Narthex. If you can make it out to help it would be greatly appreciated.
After we get done with the cleanup we will be able to just hang out for the evening. We will be getting pizza and some other snacks around, feel free to bring any movies and/or games that you want. The boy scouts are also going to be burning the big pile that is behind the barn and they invited us to join them for that. At the end of the night (around 10ish) we will put the bread out for the bread sale the following morning. Hope to see you there, bring a friend or two and come join us!
Update
Hey everyone just wanted to make an update to let you know that we will no longer be meeting on Wednesday for our Wednesday Whatever.
We are going to have a Pre-Bread Sale party on November 7th however. The 7th is the Church craft show and they have asked if we can help clean up afterwards like usual. After we get everything cleaned up we can get pizza and snacks and then do whatever we want for the evening. Movies/Video Games/Board Games/Whatever else you want, we can even get out the toilet paper for some dodge ball or other activities. At the end of the night we will put the bread out for the bread sale on Sunday morning. Bring a friend or two and come have a good time. I will let you know what time we are needed for the craft show cleanup when I get more info.
Upcomming Events
Just an update on some future events:
The LUMC Harvest Festival will be on October 24th. There will be food, games, a bon fire and more. If you would like to help out Pastor Aaron will be leading the volunteers so let him know.
The David Crowder concert on October 25th has been cancelled due to lack of interest, there will just be the regular Sunday night meeting at 7 instead.
The annual LUMC craft show is on November 7th, as usual we will be helping to clean up the Church following the event, we will let you know a time as it gets closer. On that same night we are looking at having a movies / video games / gym / whatever night at Church. We can hang out and get pizza or whatever other snacks for the evening and then put the bread out for the bread sale the following day. If you would be interested in coming let me know, as always friends are welcome to come as well.

Mission Trip 09 Storybook
The storybook for this year's mission trip is available to be ordered! There is a copy in the Youth Room now that you can look at and decide if you want to order it. As long as we order 10 copies it will only be $40 per book so let me know if you would like a copy. We will be placing the order in just a few weeks so get your request in soon.
David Crowder Band Concert

Corn Maze / Trip to Smith Farms
We will be going to Crot's Corn Maze and Smith Farms on October 4th. Meet at the Church at 5 o'clock and bring $5 we will return to the Church by 8:30.
