We added the peninsula in 1994 - taking out a large pantry cabinet that used to be in that space - and adding the pantry cabinet to the left of the refrigerator. It added some much needed counter space, but boy does it looked crammed there!CIMG1949.JPG 2009-04-27

Range wall. There really was no working counter space near the range. I usually used the peninsula for prep, and it was only 2.5 steps to the stove, but I always seemed to be dropping or spilling stuff. Also, blind cabinets in the corner, need I say more? CIMG1950.JPG 2009-04-27

One of the things that is noticible in this picture is that the door nob on the entry door to the hallway has flipped. We changed the swing of the door to open to the kitchen, and it has been one of those HUGE impact changes - so much easier! stairs and door.jpg 2009-08-19
