Picture of the Day

Latest news

Straight

I straightened my hair the other day.  :-)  I liked the motion in this picture.

Curly

Today my hair curled into such beautiful ringlets that I just had to take a picture of it.

Under the Bed

Samantha found out that she can hide up in the box compartment of our bed, so I got a few pictures of her.  This picture, obviously, has been altered quite a bit.

Branches

Mike and I went to the cemetery the other day to take pictures and walk.  Unfortunately for us, the temperature dropped steeply when we went out, and we didn't get to stay long.

Oh, well.  I got a few good pictures out of it.  See the album below for the full picture.

Derailed

Or:
My Train of Thought Hasn't Been Railed for a Very Long Time

There are two train tracks in Wellsville.  One of them runs beside the town and is still in use.  This one, obviously, hasn't seen use in many years.

The Beginning

This is the beginning of my photo log.  Not much so far, but it may grow.  To begin, I've posted a few photos looking back into my "shutterbug" past.  Henceforth, I'll try to keep things recent as I take pictures.

Looking Back

Candy's Fashion Shot
Candy's Fashion Shot
Heh, heh.  Candy was being so patient, but she really didn't understand why we were putting a scarf and a hat on her.
Catty Corner
Catty Corner
My niece's kitten, Miyuki, looked really cool with her b&w pattern on a red tile.
Ryan
Ryan
Although this picture is blurry, the composition struck me as good.
Coati
Coati
This is a Mexican coati, making its home at the site of Tepoztlan. The locals call these animals "tejones," or badgers.  Actually, they're closer to a raccoon.

I thought this picture turned out quite good.

Frost
Frost
Just a picture of frost that I edited and played with.
Miyuki's Gaze
Miyuki's Gaze
Miyuki, posing perfectly.  Although the focal point is in the center and I prefer off-center focal points, the movement seemed appropriate.  Miyuki's body gives the picture enough of an off-center feel for me to still consider it "balanced."
Maggie's Hair
Maggie's Hair
Heh, heh.  This is less an artistic picture, and more of a victory shot.  My niece's hair is wavy, wiry, and thick.  Her usual hairstyle is frizzy to the extreme.  After spending a while with me and my curling iron (ironic, huh?), I managed to tame THE HAIR.  Hah!
Summer Feet
Summer Feet
Something about this picture gives me a feeling of happy, lazy afternoons.  I think it's the bare feet.
Heterochromia
Heterochromia
Puffy (pronounced po-fee), has heterochromatic eyes.  That is, his eyes are two different colors.  Fabulous.
Crates and Interrupted Naps
Crates and Interrupted Naps
My mom's scrooge-like cat hates everyone (except for mom's husband).  He nevertheless allowed me to take a picture of him in his crate.
Joyride
Joyride
I called this one "Joyride," because it just had such a sense of freedom, joy, and abandon.  To bad the mirror was dirty.
Spread Your Arms
Spread Your Arms
My niece, standing on the ledge before a sheer 10 to 20-foot drop.  It still made a nice picture.
Playing with Fire
Playing with Fire
This is one of about 30 pictures I took of a fire, I tried different shutter speeds and aperture settings.  This one, I thought, turned out the best.
Skip
Skip
My niece trying to get her pebbles to skip across the lake's surface.  I have a b&w shot much like this, but this one seemed better because of the gorgeous fall colors.
Flower
Flower
Not much to say.  It's a flower
Kenna
Kenna
I have a difficult time getting good pictures of my sister-in-law, because she hates being photographed and rarely ever looks at the camera.  Here's one of my lucky shots.  Even though she's not looking at the camera, her expression, colors, and curls turned out just great.  It took very little editing to make this picture presentable.
Paranoia
Paranoia
My tip of the hat to old film noir-type movies, or perhaps more of a tip of the hat to old-style horror films.

'Ello.

Welcome to my photo weblog.  I've never had one before, but I thought I'd go ahead and start one, since I'm such a shutterbug.
