Another popular destination that does not need too much introduction.  My only experience with Fall colors has been that you have to monitor the foliage closely, and go exactly when its supposed to be peak season.  There are a number of state sites that provide an interactive foliage meter, and theya re by and large quite accurate.  Plan to do a few treks, since the best color is often seen off the roads that you can drive by.  Try and get to some water bodies like ponds, the reflection shots typically bring out the best color.  And if you can invest in some filters, they are well worth the money you would spend for them.  Another thing that I have personally experienced is that the large expansive landscape shot never comes out as well as you can see it, there is just too much interference that causes the picture to come out a little dull, so focus on more specific shots.

New York does not really need too much introduction.  But its always a good idea to try and visit New York around Christmas and New Years, the city looks even prettier.  Saks most always puts on a snowflakes theme, Rockefeller centre simply bustles with activity.  But the couple of pics with the trees were taken off of West Side Highway, around Exit 95 or so.  There is an exit that takes you to a little parking spot, offering you excellent views upstream and downstream Hudson river.  You can also take some pretty pics of the G W bridge, but be careful to take a good tripod because it is quite windy, I had a flimsy one, and all my bridge pics came out too blurry.

About 350 kms from Hyderabad.  The road from Hyderabad to Srisailem is quite picturesque, the road is in good condition, and goes through a wildlife sanctuary.  This road is closed from sunset to sun-up, so make sure you plan the trip well.  There a few turns off the road that take you to a couple of pretty waterfalls.  In addition, one can always stop at the sanctuary and do a guided jeep ride into the forest.  The timings for these rides are such that you normally dont get to see too much wildlife, except for the stray deer or peacocks.  However, the view from the point inside the jungle is quite spectacular.  Again, be watchful when crossing the sanctuary road, there is a chance to spot some wildlife.  The pic of the chameleon on the tree was taken on this road.

At Srisailem itself, a good place to take pics of sunrise is the spot where they have an aerial ride.  The ride does not start till 9 am, so you might have to kill some time, or forgo the ride altogether.  You wont be missing much, since its a pretty short ride.  The dam that you need to cross to get to Srisailem from Hyd is quite nice, and the road has many twists and turns, providing you ample opportunities to take some pretty shots of the river, and the landscape surrounding the river.
