My Hero!
Lance is my hero! I seriously can't love him enough. Yesterday we were driving in the car together and all of the cars in front of us were driving like a bunch of crazy people. Slowing way down, but not yet at a complete stop. Of course I was the one to say "Come on crazies... lets go, lets go. What's going on? I know you can drive better than that." Well, about 20 cars had been acting like this ahead of us, but as we got closer we saw an older gentleman who had tripped on the curb and was lying on the side of the road in serious anguish. He had big tears running down his cheeks, his face was wrenched in pain, and he lay there unable to move grabbing his badly hurt leg. Lance and I looked at each other, quickly pulled the car over and I saw my husband jump out of the car in his nice business suit, run out to the filthy looking man, pick him up, carry him out of the street and got him some help. It only took 5 minutes out of Lances day, but those 5 minutes made him that much more of a hero to me. I have a scripture running through my head that I read once about a friend clasping hands and becoming surety as a brother. It's in the Bible. And it's killing me that I can't remember it. I don't have my scriptures with me but stay tuned. It's one of the sweetest verses I have ever heard.
PS: I later felt sick about those cars who slowed down for a better look with no intention to help the poor man. And you can bet I had a lot more I wanted to be yelling at them. Why aren't there enough good people out there? Please tell me you would have pulled over because I'm in a serious state of shock by the amount of people who passed by. I'm sick to know that that man had to lie there in pain waiting for someone with a heart to come by.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I saw love today. What did you see?
