Important notifications
Start getting ready for the 2012 season! Remember, all swim team members are required to have a team suit and swim fins. Goggles are not required, but are recommended. Suits, goggles and fins are available at Aardvark. Fins can also be purchased at sports stores or on line, but please do not buy adjustable strap fins - they break very quickly!
Latex team swim caps will be given out at the first practices - complimentary to any team member requesting one. New this year - silicone caps! Just $10, supplies are limited. We will have them for sale at the first practices.
Spirit Wear - get it now! Click here to go to the spirit wear order form and get ready to cheer on the Marlins!
Check Out What's Up for 2012!
Click here for the volunteer sign up form. You can send in your $200 check anytime before practices start (to Paul Brazier, at 14110 Rock Canyon Dr, Centreville, VA 20121)
or bring it to the first practice. The volunteer check must be received by the first practice or the swimmer will not be able to practice.
New for 2012 - all volunteers (which really means all parents!) have to fill out the Colonial Swim League Safe Kids Disclosure statement. This form must be turned in by June 5. Please download the form, fill it out, and return it by June 5. You may scan it and email it to manorgatemarlins@verizon.net, send to ManorGate Marlins, 14106 Wood Rock Way, Centreville, VA 20121 or bring it to the first week of practices.
Step up to a new level in volunteering! Check out one of these important positions:
Concessions Co-Chair - we have an established co-chair for you to work with!
Doughnut Sale Chair - no need to run the sale this year, just shadow our current chair to be prepared for next year.
Eat at Glory Days - Help the Marlins!
Our swim team will be participating in the GLORY DAYS Dining for Dollars program again this year. Every time you eat at Glory Days, please save your guest receipts. A portion of your bill will be donated to the Marlins at the end of the season. Tell your friends, too, as they can give their receipts to you. It's that easy! Please leave your receipts in the GLORY DAYS envelope located in the club house lobby. Do not submit receipts with personal credit card information.

Weather Policy
With high humidity and hot temperatures comes the chance for afternoon thunderstorms. Please note that swim team practices will go on if there is just light to moderate rain. If there is thunder or lightning, however, the lifeguards will close the pool immediately, thereby cancelling swim team practice. If thunder is heard, the lifeguards have to keep the pool closed for 45 minutes before giving the all clear. This means that one practice may be cancelled, but a later practice may go on. Unfortunately, it's not easy to predict, so advance notice is usually not possible.
