I just wanted to make one last entry on the team website.  As you all know Jerry had to leave us this season for personal reasons.   We hated to say goodbye, Jerry was a good coach, good man and good friend.  Wait that sounds like he died...what I wanted to say is that we will miss him on the field as a coach very much!!!  

I was contacted by the Mantua Soccer Association to let me know that not enough girls registered for the U17 - U18 level team and they decided to not have one for the spring season.   Some of the girls are going to other teams, so it is with a tear in my eye that I say goodbye to the Mantua Fierce Team.   I wish all of the girls well and hope you continue to play.  Feel free to drop me a line if you playing for another team and I might just show up with my camera to get some action shots for your facebook profile :)

Hi Fierce Team,

 

It was great to get to meet everyone at today’s game and we’re looking forward to a great season.   We discussed a few things after the game and here are some additional details.

 

First – Team Contact List

I would like to make a contact list for the team.   This is always good to have if you need a ride, get lost or need to reach out to another member of the team.  Please e-mail me with the following information which we will put on a contact list and distribute to the entire team: 

Players Name & Cell Phone #, Parents Name’s & Cell Phone Numbers, Home Address

 

Fierce Spirit Wear

I’m going to look into team spirit wear and would like to know who would be interested in getting shirts.  Since we have combined teams and changed the name I thought it would be a good idea.  

 

Tournaments

A lot of the girls have expressed interest in playing tournaments so we are going to prepare to make that happen.  

 

Here is what we need from you.

• Talk to your daughter and see if she is interested in playing tournaments.

• By September 25 (2 weeks) we need to know who is interested and collect $50 from those who are (your money will only be used for a tournament you are playing in)

• Michelene Pineiro is working on getting us a park clean up with the township that pays $500, which will go towards tournaments

• Armand Palimenio will give me information on holding a poker tournament that might help us raise some money for tournament play.

• Many of the tournaments are College Showcase tournament, in which college coaches come to see the girls play.

• Jerry and I will work on getting all the girls profiles up on www.gotsoccer.com and you will receive a link to update your daughters information

• If college soccer is something your daughter is interested in you will need to prepare a resume.  I have attached Beth’s so you can get an idea of what do include.  Feel free to use this as a template, I am willing to help anyone with the preparation.  This is not the time to be shy…you’ve gotta toot your own horn and make the coaches want to look at your daughter.  So include everything you can and make her sound the best you can.

• I will be taking team pictures which we can use to update the resumes.

• I know not all the parents can always make tournaments so I will let you know that we do have parents that are willing to car pool, so we will arrange to get the girls there is they want to play.

 

So all I need to know is who is interested in tournaments and I’ll keep a list.   Bring $50 to the game on September 25^th and we can start looking for tournaments.  I will send you updated information when I know about the park clean up and any other fundraiser we can come up with.  If anyone has any ideas, please feel free to share.

Welcome back players and parents. This year should be a very interesting and competitve one to say the least. We were ranked #2 in the Olympic A conference which means we will see some pretty intense compitition to say the least. We have lost several key players but also added several more BETTER players and I expect our team to be as competitve as it ever was. I know we initially called for not practicing in the fall but depepnding on how many girls we have playing HS ball we just may want to re-visit that thought. All girls that play HS ball do not have to attend fall practice sessions and if we do decide to practice it will only be one night a week. The girls that are not playing HS need to keep active in order to be competitive, I would like to see our captains become REAL LEADERS of this team and call for CAPTAINS PRACTICES. You are now in your adult years captains and I fully expect you to be more mature and rise to the oppurtunity that is given to you, become the leaders that we (the team) always thought you could be. You should be able run this team without any coaching help.

Can't wait to see everyone back on the field...see you all soon.

I would like everyone to welcome aboard to our team a new player in Arianna Bua. Arianna is a goalie for Clearview and a pretty good one (from what I hear) at that. Arianna will be doing the net-minding for the indoor season and hopefully the spring season (we all need to perseuade her a little more). I've had the privilege of talkin g to Arianna a little bit and she seems like can fit right in with our team. So welcome aboard Arianna and good luck to you, have a fun season kid.

Hello all,

it feels like forever since I have last seen everyone. I hope everyone is well, if not that they are better. Our spring season officially starts on March 6th, opening day for us, I do not know who or where yet. I have not planned on any practices before that because of the harsh winter. That is one of the reasons I wanted to do indoor second session this year as opposed to first session. Those of you that are on the indoor roster we open Wednesday February 2nd at 7:00, this will be some kind of workout for you before spring. But please try to stretch and do some jogging on a tread mill, use a stationary bike or something of a sort before next week. It's been a while since we've worked out. As for spring, most of our players are coming back and I expect to be very competitive again. I would like to do some tournaments but need to see what kind of committment we get from parents and players. Anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to contactme me.
