The Medical Alliance of the Piedmont is an organization of physicians and physician and medical student spouses residing in Forsyth, Stokes, Davie, Surry, and Yadkin Counties. We are a component of the North Carolina Medical Society Alliance and the American Medical Association Alliance. Membership in this organization supports local, state, and national health-related projects and initiatives.
Celebrity Jeopardy/ Family Feud Night

We are happy to report that our Celebrity Jeopardy and Family Feud fundraiser in January was a great success and lots of fun. We were able to raise $20,246 for the SECU Family House. We are also in full swing with our monthly meals, organized and prepared by our members, for the residents of this facility. Check out the "Pictures & Videos" page to get a glimpse! Our Holiday Sharing Card raised enough funds to give 7 scholarships in the amount of $500 to students pursuing degrees in allied health care fields. This winter has been very busy and we have some great opportunities to have fun this spring with our upcoming Fashion Show Luncheon (fashions by Nitsa's) and our Annual Spring Installation Meeting to install our new 2012-2013 officers. This next year will be our 75th anniversary, so look for information regarding that soon!

Mark your calendars now! Our annual fundraiser for the SECU Family House will be January 28th at 6:30 pm at the Embassy Suites Hotel on N. Cherry St. It will be a hilariously fun night of Celebrity Jeopardy and Family Feud. Who will be there? You'll have to come and see! Tickets will be $125 per person which includes dinner and 2 drinks. Rooms have been reserved at a special rate- more details to come. So don't wait till the last minute to talk about this with your friends and family. Reserve your tables of 8 early to assure your preferential seating. Invitations will be mailed soon. Looking forward to seeing you there!

On October 18th the SECU Family House had their Dedicatioin Ceremony. Lots of people came to celebrate and say a few kind words about the importance and depth of this project. The list of speakers included Ms. Shirley Bell from SECU Foundation Board, Mayor Allen Joines, Dr. Duncan Hite from Baptist Medical Center, Dr. Pat Healy from Forsyth Medical Center, Chaplin Jay Foster from BMC, Chaplin Randy Hillman from FMC, Beth Baldwin (original founder of the SECU Family House), and a beautiful solo dedication song/blessing from Chaplin Ann Dalton from Hospice. Of course, our own Kathy Carr was there to introduce and welcome everyone to the newly completed beautiful building. After the ceremony, we toured the facility and found it to be adorned with wonderful donated works of art and beautiful furnishings. One of the guest rooms was furnished by MAP from the proceeds of our 3 successful Murder Mystery Fundraisers and our Community Garage Sale from last year. We couldn't be more proud of this group for doing as much as we did for this great cause. Click here to check out the ceremony on YouTube.
