Marco's Wine Artwork is currently on display at Oak & Steel Fine Wines and Spirits, 1776 Broadway at 57th Street.

Marco's sixth wine art exhibit was held on February 28th at Webster Hall's Quarterly Arts Soiree, benefiting Orphans International Worldwide in Haiti. Photos have just been uploaded from the event. Thanks to all who supported the Art Opening!

All 8 ticket stubs from his gold medal victories in Beijing, China framed with his famous Sports Illustrated Cover and USA Daily from the USA House in Beijing. These are all matted on an official Water Cube poster, which is set on a Chinese flag that was distributed at the Opening Ceremonies on 8/08/08. This piece was featured at the Sports Museum of America.

This piece was created for my aunt to match the furniture in her house. She desired a Jackson Pollock replica. I painted the canvas completely black before throwing paint onto the horizontal canvas.

"You can't learn anything when you are talking"

This piece was created for my recent boss. His best (and most recited) advice was "you can't learn anything when you are talking." I'm not sure if I completely agree with that, as people can notice body language and reactions while speaking, but I did become a better listener with his advice.

Floating Leaves in Sydney Harbor

This piece was created for a friend in Sydney, Australia. While walking along the Sydney Harbor in fall, we noticed some beautifully colored leaves floating aimlessly in the water. I took an abstract approach in representing that moment.

Breakout
Acrylic and wood on canvas.

This was the first piece I ever 'repainted' and the first piece I used water as a design.

At the time, this canvas was the largest I had ever worked with and I wanted it to be special. When I had finished covering the canvas with paint, I let it dry. When I came back the next day, I hated it. My goal in painting is to create something that is appealing to the eye, so I repainted the piece, over and over again until I was visually stimulated.

After cleaning my brushes, I fixed an area of the painting but not before realizing there was an excess of water still left on my paintbrush. It created a very cool effect and I have experimented with the method ever since.

Sand Art in Rain

Galaxy
The black edges of the painting set up the central colors that almost fade away as you approach the center of the painting. The rain and sand combine to form a mystical image that moves the focus of the painting from the center of the canvas to the upper right corner. This is one of my favorite pieces.

Let it be
This was the first painting I created in the rain. I painted the entire canvas and waited for the rain to pour before bringing it outside. I watched for a few minutes as the rain began blending the colors.
