Hope everyone is having a great winter break after one of the most successful cross country seasons in Marina history!! I want to make sure that everyone gets the rest they need but we also want to maintain the training you accomplished in cross country. Varsity athletes should be running 5-6 days a week between 30 and 40 min a day. We will be meeting on Tues and Thurs of each week at 9am at Marina. We will be doing runs and open up the weight room. If you are going out of town make sure to keep up the runs and be ready to get with it January 3. If you need to contact me for questions that would be fine. See you Tuesday at Marina. Coach Sanford
PS- please contact those who may not be getting these emails or know about the web site and let them know what the schedule is. Thanks

Great Job today to the Marina Boys and Girls teams. The girls ran a team time of 86:39! That time was the fastest team time of the day. Laura Hollander 16:21 was the fastest individual time. The boys took 7th place in their heat! A young team with 3 sophs in the top 5 they ran very strong. Richie Soto finished 2nd in 14:34 after falling near the finish, getting up and finishing. He was the #5 qualifier overall and will compete as an individual in next weeks CIF Finals! The race times for next weeks finals are 9:05am for the Varsity Girls Division 1 Final and 10:00am for the Boys Division 1 Final. We may have a bus next week if we can get enough of the team to go support Marina as they try and qualify for the State Championships! More information will be out next week! Thanks also to the parents for all they did today to help the athletes.

Boys Varsity Race #6 8:56am
Girls Varsity Race #17 11:22am
If the rain causes a move to the rain course you can add about 3 min to each race before the next can start. It would add about 18 min to the start of the boys race and about 51 min before the girls race would start. These times are approx. because there is no official schedule.
If dry the tent will be in it's normal spot. If wet or rain course it will be closer to the stands by the track. Adjust drive time for rain.
Boys Qualifying 4 heats Top 4 teams in each heat
Girls Qualifying 3 heats Top 5 in each heat and 6th fastest based on time
We have ponchos for all the athletes to warm up in and warm down in. They have a list of clothing items they will need tomorrow in case of rain. Please make sure they leave the house in the morning with each of them.
