Re: Gawad Kalinga Dance - A Masquerade Ball
It was a fun event - lots of ballroom dancing - for a good cause - to raise funds for the completion of the GK Village of Light in Santa Cruz, Marinduque, Philippines.
Event was attended no less than the "Guru" of Gawad Kalinga, Mr. Tony Meloto, who gave a short talk about the progress of Gawad Kalinga which is now known internationally. Mr. Meloto has been invited to a summit in Singapore which will be attended by President Barack Obama next year.
Our congratulations to Marilyn Bello and Tess Corpus who organized the event for a successful fundraiser. Thanks so much for the warm welcome. We're glad that some of us from Marinduque Association of So. California were able to support the event led by Ms. Luz Mondonedo, our president, Willie & Fe Leano, Rey and Joyce Ancog, Adel and Clarissa Mondonedo and friends, and Flo and I. Also at the event were Cora Lua from Santa Cruz and a friend who were "recruited" by Marilyn. We hope that Marilyn will be an MASC member from hereon. We've invited her and Tess to join us at our Christmas Get-together on December 13th at Montclair. Hope you all had a Happy Halloween weekend too!

MASC hosting the 9th Marinduque Int'l Inc. Biennial Grand Reunion is super...Thank you Grace and Agnes for the photos. They are all testimonials of the camaraderie that all 9 Chapters of MI have created over the 16 years of organization.
The Welcome Nite was just heartwarming, the Golf Tournament led by Willy Leano & Noly Ricohermoso was most hilarious seeing a battle between the Full of Wisdom and the Youth with full of energy and the Youth gave up to the Full of Wisdom at the same day, International Cup of Competition between Chapters was hilarious and entertaining. The Business Meeting with the NEC, Board of Trustee and the General Assembly was a good forum for the exchange of ideas in planning and implementing projects. The keynote speakers are Chapter Presidents, Committee Chairpersons, Rotary Club Member Leslie for CPG & Diamond McCarthy Attorneys Reda Dennis & Skip, Senior Partner were very informative. The Gala Dinner was a dance, dance, dance all night.
To all Marinduquenos & Chapter Officers & Members who witnessed the glory, let us salute to MASC Officers led by Ms. Luz Mondonedo in making this Grand Reunion truly, GRANDE.

That's a WOW website, Grace. Great photos too!! Would be nice to see captions on photos to identify people in photos (if known). I have photos to share though not as good as yours, Grace. A minor omission in Board of Directors for MASC - we missed Mac Macayaon (former past president). Did he attend our dinner-dance? He paid for a couple of tickets, I believe. Need to publish winners of Raffle Tickets too.
Kudos to MASC - Luz and the Dream Team and its members for a great team work!! Great skit too, Albine, and a great cast. The other chapters' performances were very entertaining. Hope we made money!! Congrats to Mike and Joe for having been elected as VP and Auditor respectively of MII for 2010 & 2011.
