NEW #1 Who Dat? Kuran "The Truth" Iverson 6'9 PG Tops in USA Class 2013 High School Basketball
6'9 JR PG Kuran Iverson is on of the top recruits in the USA. Cousin of "The Answer" Allen Iverson,"The Truth" is being heavily recruited by some of the nations top programs including: Connecticut, Kentucky, Louisville, Pittsburg and many more. Why not with his long 6'9 frame Kuran can handle/finish with either hand in traffic. Range? No problem, he hits the three off pics, off the dribble, and off your best defenders. Playmaker? Iverson dimes up his teammates like nobody's business. A player like Kuran comes every so often. Imagine a taller Penny Hardaway, or a more athletic Lamar Odom, and this is what Kuran "The Truth" Iverson brings to the table. To think he still has to play his senior season. The only knock on Kuran is he gets bored with the competition sometimes and gets lost at times. Funny thats the same thing they say about geniuses in regular classrooms. This kid is ready for the big times. This is a guy we will see playing in the NBA one day.

Top Recruit/Playmaker Jason Boswell Class of 2013 6'8 PG Trinity Catholic High Stamford, CT.
Jason Boswell is a Jr. Point Guard from Trinity Catholic High School. Since transferring to Trinity Catholic High School in Stamford, Jason has stepped on the scene as one of the top players in the FCIAC as well as the state of CT. As a 6'8 point guard, Jason's best attributes are making plays for others. Boswell has the handle as well as the court vision to take his game to the next level. We at Hi-Lites Sports Media expect a great remainder of the season, summer and senior season for the Crusaders. Boswell has already drawn looks from many top division 1 programs. Stay tuned for more Hi-Lites from Jason Boswell on The Maziv Channel.

He runs the point guard and is excellent at running the pick and roll....Not bad for a 6'9 sophomore point guard. Iverson tallied 20 pts 16 rebs, and 8 assists in this game. Watch these Hi-Lites as Iverson's NW Catholic ousted Bassick High in the Class L Quarter finals of Connecticut's state tournament. Bassick had a 7'1 senior of its own. Anthony Allen nearly posted a triple double in this game as does Iverson. Bassick's Kyle Geer was the games leading scorer with 21 points. NW Catholic's Zack Lewis scored 20 pts, and JC Carr finished w 19 pts.

Kenny Jones #1 PG East Coast Elite aka "Mustard" 8th grade reel
Kenny Jones aka "Mustard" is a very exciting young point guard for the East Coast Elite u-14 team. He seems to be able to make even the most routine plays look spectacular. We call him Mustard because we joke with him telling him to take the mustard off the hot dog plays. Kenny is a very dynamic playmaker and the ultimate competitor. Check out his Hi-Lite reel, and stay tuned for more reels from Hi-Lites Sports Media.

Kanard Codrington's 7th grade highlight reel
Kanard Codrington was Mr. Versitility for the U13 East Coast Elite State Championship team. Kanard averaged a double double, leading his team in rebounds from the swingman position. Kanard was also one of the teams best defenders in the post as well as the perimeter. With his long wingspan, this 6 foot gaurd is a very physical player who will mix it up with even the largest of opposing players. As he contiues to work on his game offensively, Kanard will be an up and coming player to watch.

Hi-Lites Sports Media's Mid Season 2011-2012 Boys Basketball Top Five

1. St Joes (Trumbull)- Led by Seniors Timaj Parker, James Jennings, and Sophomore Quincey McKnight, St. Joe's is one of the deepest and biggest teams in the state.  Their starting lineup goes 6'7, 6'7, 6'5, 6'3 and an ultra quick 5'6 Jennings running the show.  Coming off a big win over New London, St. Joe's will be tough to beat.

2. New London- You won't find a better player in the state than the number one ranked Point Guard in the country Chris Dunn.  The Providence bound 6-4 open court magician makes the hardwood his circus.  New London will only go as far as Dunn can carry them.  New London is within a bad foul call of being the number one team in our poll.   New London could possibly meet St. Joe's in the State Tournament with their move up to LL.

3. NorthWest Catholic - The best one two punch in the state is NWC's Kuran Iverson and Zach Lewis.  Iverson is a 6-8 major Div I prospect at the guard spot who runs the pick and roll like nobody's business, and Lewis scores at will including a 43 point performance vs New Britain.  This dynamic duo will be a tough outing for any team in the state and looks primed for a deep run in the State Tournament.

4. James Hillhouse High- This team out of New Haven is perhaps the over achievers of the group.  Led by a tough scrappy group of guards including All-State Football star Andre "Grampa" Anderson and Bobby Bynum, Hillhouse can play with any of the top teams in the state.  The Academics are battle tested as well beating New London, Wilbur Cross, and Harding. Hillhouse would be ranked higher, but New London was missing a few starters when they lost to Hillhouse. Hillhouse is the wildcard of this group, and probably the most dangerous team come State Tournament Time.  When facing this group of athletes, you better pack a lunch.

5. Kolbe Cathedral (Bridgeport)-  This is the surprising team of the group.  Ex UCONN great Chris Smith has his boys ready to go.  The Cougars defeated reigning SWC Champs ND of Fairfield, and Hyde.  Ian Gardner looks to lead a group of unproven ballers, but Smith has them ready to play in every contest.  It will be interesting to see what the Cougars do when facing ND later in the season, possibly on the SWC Tournament.

FCIAC Indoor Championships '11

Thank you to all the people who are visiting our site for the first time.  Last night Thursday Feb, 4th 2011 saw some great performances at the 2011 FCIAC Indoor Track Championships.  As the head coach for the Harding Boys Team I look through the perspective of the individual when I take pictures.  This might be due to the fact that with numbers down in our program we have limited qualifiers for this event.  That doesn't take away from the effort each individual gives when competing in each event.  For that reason you will find over 1300 photos in this album.  I believe in being an equal opportunity photographer.

This was a great night of competition with more highs and lows than a roller coaster at Six Flags. I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the events that took place on the night of Thursday Feb. 3rd 2011. These pictures are also on sale.  You can access the album by clicking the the Hi-Lites Sports Media link on the right.  There you can click on the album for the FCIAC Indoor 2011 championships.

Thanks Again

-Mr. Hi-Lite
