Message board

Central & Looking forward to the Rams

We went into the Central game quite banged up with alot of players not at 100%, and unfortunatley against a team like Central you need everyone to be 100% and also play mistake free football. Kingsmen, way to keep your chins up and fight to the finish. Looking ahead for this week we will be playing the Modesto Rams on this coming Sunday, in Riverbank at the Sports Complex at 3pm. Coach Miedema suggested that maybe since it's a Sunday game, which is very rare, that maybe we could all attend church together and then maybe a light lunch before the game. I will talk more about it in practice and see if this is something we would like to do. With 2 games left we can finish above .500 if we win out. Both the Rams & the Steelers are very beatable teams if we play our game and not theirs. Let's work hard this week and stay focused.

Blessings

Coach Rob

Patriots Game & Gustine is coming to our House!
We fought a brave battle last Saturday, but were unable to capitalize on Patriot mistakes to win the game. Way to fight hard Kingsmen. We had a great practice tonight and accomplished our goals for the evening. The Gustine Redskins are coming to our house this weekend, and they probably beleive they need to make a statement because of the whoopin we gave them at the munchie games. I believe the Kingsmen have that same whoopin stick in their hand and are preparing themselves properly to use it with authority this weekend. Practice hard, play your positions, do your homework, and obey your parents Kingsmen...Us Coaches love you all!!! Coach Rob
Re: Kingsmen vs Chiefs and upcoming week
We overcame our mistakes and took advantage of Ripon's mistakes.  We played with passion and fire right down to the very end.  The last touchdown was a thing of beauty.  Not only was it a great individual effort by Anthony Brooks, it was a great team effort to get him to the end zone.  No one gave up on the play.  Every single player on the field made it happen.  Before the game, I called that end zone the promised land and challenged the players to get there and they did it.  Don't you just love this team?
Re: Kingsmen vs Chiefs and upcoming week

Great win by the Kingsmen - Fans saw the fire in you Saturday night!  The Coaching was excellent as well.  Thanks coaches, for your huge part in this victory. Kingsmen - that same fire will take you far this season...don't let it flicker or fade.  You are called to be Mighty Warriors!

Kingsmen vs Chiefs and upcoming week
What an awesome showing of passion and heart by the team this weekend. They played every down with the intensity that it is going to take against our opponent this weekend, the Patriots. It is going to be warmer this week so keep them watered up for practice. Remember Monday, no pads but helmets...Conditioning from 6-7, then film from 7-8. Kingsmen...Keep up on your homework and grades at school, as well as being obedient to your parents, like the God fearing kids I know you are. Great win...Now let's go get some STEAK!!!! coach rob
Kingsmen v Escalon

We faced a tough, disciplined, well-coached team and Escalon showed us some of our weaknesses.  We need to execute better and stop shooting ourselves in the foot.  All it takes is one bad play to kill a drive.  We have more than enough talent to score against them, we just have those mental letdowns that cost us.

On the positive side, we handled their kick-offs perfectly.  They tried a couple of things that have worked in the past and they didn't work this time.  Our players never quit working and fighting, even down to the last play.

Looking Ahead

What a physical & emotional day this past Saturday vrs the Bucs was. I could not be more proud of the heart & passion I witnessed on the field from our team. As Coach Eric said, the final score didn't truly reflect what happened on the field. 1 or 2 plays that lean our way & the score is completely different. Looking ahead for this week, we play an always talented & strong hitting Escalon. They will be there and ready to play. We need to show up with the same intensity & fire for this Saturday's game as last week. We have a shortened week of practice due to the holiday, so come to every night ready to leave it all on the field. Stay tuned for possible game film & Noah's Birthday cake, this Friday.

In HIS Service

Coach Rob

Kingsmen v Bucs
I thought we played a very good football game and that the final score did not reflect what really happened on the field.  If we get one or two plays to go our way, the outcome could have been completely different.  I was most proud of the fact that we never quit, even as they were trying to get in one last score at the end of the game.  We knew we couldn't win, but we were determined not to let them score again.
Game Notes
This is a great space to post your comments, ideas, etc.  It's an open forum for discussion about the team, the coaches, opposing teams - but first: a few ground rules:  1) Be respectful  2) Be positive  3) Remember this is a public messageboard.   Thanks!

Weekly updates

Thanks to our coaches

Thank you, Coach Harper and all your coaching staff for the incredible gift of time and talent you give to Kingsmen kids. Your work here is a true ministry - teaching our kids how to be strong - physically and more importantly, spiritually - and they will carry these lessons with them as they become adults.  Thanks, Coaches!

Kingsmen vs Gustine

Great week.  We had our best week of practice topped off with a very nice win on Saturday.  Our defense was outstanding, our special teams played great with only one exception and our offense moved the ball well and put up a lot of points.  It's a great lead in to a big game with Central Catholic this week.  Let's keep the momentum going.

Patriots Game

We didn't lose, we just ran out of time.

Practice Notes

The word for the week was intensity and we saw flashes of it all week.  Wednesday's practice was a little rough, but we bounced back on Thursday with a good practice.  We need to come out on Saturday and be intense and focused from the opening kick-off.  Great job, Jared Rice, for being the only player left twice during Sharks.

panthers game

My oh my...We came to play football on Saturday. I am very proud of not only the athletic play of our squad, but the character that they showed in regards to the team we played against. With the exception of too many yellow hankies being thrown to the ground on our behalf, they played their positions very well. They showed that they had FAITH in God, FAITH in the system, and FAITH in themselves. They showed INTEGRITY, they did what they told us they would do. They showed STRENGTH, fighting with few numbers to the very end. They showed TRUST, they trusted each other and they trusted the coaches. They showed their FIST!!!! Great job Kingsmen, and Kingsmen Fans.

Another Good Week of Practice

We had another good week of practice.  We worked on "Focus" all week and the team did a great job of paying attention and staying focused.  We learned alot as we kicked our offense up to full speed and finished adding our defensive packages.  We also worked on specials teams and we have been especially happy with our kickers.  Now it is time to take what we have learned and put it into use in a game situation.  "Are you ready for some football?"

Video clips

Not alot of good footage from the Mt House Steelers game....Rams & Escalon, couple of guys on each of their squads that we need to key in on...good look at both offenses & defenses, we have the athletes to beat both of these teams. Hard work and heart is what it will take. It is time to fan the flame into a raging fire that has been put within each of us. We Are Mighty Warriors!!!

A week of good practices

We had a very good week of practice.  The tackling and blocking drills are really paying off.  The receivers routes are getting better.  Our conditioining is also starting to pay off.  As we get in better shape, we can get more done every practice.
