Community Volunteering –
In 2010, Marquettes collected toys for the "Toys for Tots" at there annual Christmas Party. It was a great way to have fun and also give back to the community.
In 2009, Marquettes participated in the "Festival of Trees" by decorating a tree displayed at the Courthouse with other entries. This coincided with the "Dickens of a Christmas" down on the square Thanksgiving weekend. Trees are bid on and proceeds from the sale of the trees goes to McKinney's Project Graduation. The Marquettes Tree was in the top 5 trees bid on for this fundraiser. It raised $450 for Project Graduation. It was purchased by Nissan of McKinney and displayed in their store for the holidays.
In addition to volunteering as a group, many of the girls are actively volunteering in the community on a indivdual basis. Many of the Marquettes receive the Ann Presley Green Cord Community Service Award annually.
