Hey Everyone!
I hope this will be a great new way to share our photos and news with you! We will be changing the photos from time to time. Please enjoy and let us hear from you! Love...ron and jackie
We met with Mike the co-owner of Tropical Beach Weddings. Loved him and the plans they have for beach weddings so they are hired!
Here we are at the Gulf National Seashore, this is where the wedding will be. It is by Navarre Beach Florida.
Here they are! Ron and I took some photos we may use for engagement announcements...
They are just so photogenic!
Easter Sunday...
Here we are counting down to October 16th and what am I doing? Slipping away to meet with my BFF and her family in Panama City! It was sooooo fun! I mean come on, how fun is it to see your Matron of Honor at the almost 28 year mark of your marriage! The stories were fun, the reminiscing was so awesome and the smoothies were yummy! What a fun day! Now saturday I am running away again to stay in Atlanta with my Hubbie! He and his office mates are coming over for a Forscom working group. All I know is that I will get to spend 6 more glorious days with him and then he comes home the last week in September!! YA!
So, you all take care and the next time I send a message it will be Ron coming home, our moving Amy-Beth to Alex's apartment, and their wedding!AAHHH!!! See ya...
Hello everone, I am finally settled in my new home. enjoy the pictures and I will be posting more thru the year.
Thanks for all the prayer and support. They really do work.
Ron
Oh boy! Lots of things are going on.
Amy-Beth and Alex started it all off with the engagement...Ya! So the update for them is...Wedding date scheduled for October 16th, 2010 at around 5PM in the afternoon, depending on the sunset that day. It will take place at the Gulf National Seashore in Navarre, Florida, just 15 miles west of Ft Walton Beach. We are still looking for hotels or condos to stay in. The wedding dress has been ordered, tiara bought and wedding coordinator chosen. Still looking at reception sites. It is being considered a destination wedding so we are having some fun with the invitations!
Bradley and Amanda are in the countdown mode for his year in Iraq. He left the first of the month and is now in Northern Iraq. Amanda is going to college to finish her degree online, working parttime and raising Hans our Grandpuppy. He is 7 months old and is huge! He barked Happy Birthday to Ron last week! We get to talk to Brad on Skype several times a week! Gotta love technology! He looks good but is not real busy right now due to the weather. He has done his quals for flying in sand? OK my version of what I heard Ron and Brad say. He had to land in a huge dust cloud and did fine!
So, last but not least...Ronald...yep he also has new news! He got an email a couple of weeks ago asking Korea or a Combat Aviation Brigade? It turns out that they will not let him stay longer than 3 years here. So he leaves October 4th for a one year tour in Seoul, South Korea. That is why the wedding date has been moved to October next year, so everyone will be home from foreign commitments. Ron will be coming back here to Ft Rucker as of right now. I will stay here in Enterprise with the pets and the house. I have a new yard family, who will help with the outside and friends who are tall to change the filters on the inside of the house! Sooo I am set! The plan is for me to fly to Korea for a month or so at Thanksgiving and Amy-Beth to join us for a week at Christmas.
Now you are all caught up and I will end this book! Hope you are all great, love ya...
Okay, it's been like two and a half weeks so she has had ample time to tell everyone herself, Amy-Beth and Alex are engaged!!! Some of you already know because I just saw you at Chris and Aura's wedding, or you live by Amy-Beth or us, but to some it's new news!
We are soooo very excited! Alex actually called Ron to ask permission and of course Ron said yes, (he was given firm instructions not to tease the poor young man!) and then after dinner that night he got down on one knee! I love a traditional proposal! She has a princess cut solitaire, so beautiful and sparkly! So we are getting started because AB has her heart set on a beach wedding down by Ft Walton Beach area. As soon as we settle on a date we can book a place. So research has begun! Amy has three more semesters and a 12 week internship to graduate. Alex is already a graduate and a working Civil Engineer in Nashville. So our prayer is that an internship is found for next summer, we get Brad home from Iraq in a timely manner, and that the ARmy doesn't think up any moving plans for us anytime soon?!
We will keep you posted so you can plan your beach get away vacations in the fall of 2010 or the spring of 2011????? love ya...jackie
I am going to copy my daughter-in-law and do an update today! I uploaded part of our vacation photos, they all turned out so well, but 152 pics is a bit much for you all to wade through... We did have a great time! Lots of down time, I went to the Duluth Quilt Show with Marlys and Mom, so awesome! Ron and Ken fished a ton and we got several tasty walleye meals for their efforts. We attended our nephew Danny's graduation Wing Ding (as he listed it on Facebook) and saw lots of relatives we haven't seen in forever! At Lake Winnibigoshish we got to spend time with Pete, Keagen and Ashleigh. Keagen is 10 months now and is a smarty pants!!! At this time they did some tests and found the hole in his heart did not seal up at birth so we are praying about a possible upcoming surgery? We just don't know yet?
On our way home we signed papers to get Amy-Beth a new apartment! She will be farther from school, closer to work but in a gated community! The office/pool/laundry/etc is right across the street and their are both singles, families, and students so hopefully the maturity level will be a little higher! She and Alex attended his Grama Halls 90th(?) birthday party last weekend, so she got to interact with lots of his family again. They invite her to everything now, so I guess she's in!
And of course Brad and Amanda are happy and doing well in Germany! Hans is getting to be a big puppy now! He loves to sleep in the bathtub!!! Amanda is allergic to the grasses, etc there so she got really sick---the coughing led to 2 cracked ribs!!! So far so good with the healing process, but oh my goodness!!! Of course Bradley was gone to the field when it happened! (All former military wives just give the typical knowing head nod here!) But at least the field duty led to his being an official full fledged Apache pilot, all RL progressed and all! He still has a Fall report date for the sandbox. Amanda will be using her 9/11 school money from being in the Navy and she will be starting school again this fall semester! We are very excited that she was able to find a school that meets her needs!!
Okay, I must let you go and I have a pedicure in 45 minutes! You all be good and we'll update you again soon, love, ron and jackie
Hey All!
We had a great day down in Pennsacola Florida at Ron's graduation ceremony! Today after a very long year or so, Ron walked the stage to receive his hood and diploma for his masters degree in Aviation Science. His main focus was crash investigation and human factors. Amy-Beth was able to come down here for it. It was a beautiful day for weather and afterwards we had cake and punch with Ron's professor, who received an award for "Teacher of the year" from the Ft Rucker campus. We have had dinner with he and his wife before so it was fun to share some of the day with them. Then we went to "The Crab Trap" for a seafood dinner! Yummo!
So, Ron's next adventure will probably be his Doctorate. He's looking into it and testing the waters. Right now he is doing two fulltime jobs at work, desk job and flying almost every day, soooooo it may be a bit. Also it is a new program here and it may have some delays in starting.
We will see some of you soon, we go on leave June 10th!! Ya! love you all, take care...jackie and ron and amy-beth
Hey all!
I had to add these photos to our site and fill you in on our fun! The one photo isn't great, (I stole it off Jenna's Facebook) but it is Amy-Beth and Jenna at the Brad Paisley concert this weekend and I love it! The next one is the quilt I made Amy-Beth for Christmas, she took it to an open Nashville Predators Hockey practice and had the players sign it! I love it, that's exactly why I made it! The next one is Amy-Beth and I after last years Brad Paisley, Rodney Atkins, Chuck Wicks concert! I had to share our brush with fame, if you watch the show Dancing with the STars on ABC you will see Chuck Wicks with his real life girlfriend competing! We love him and his music, his dancing lacks something! But he knows my baby girl by name when she goes to his concerts and he looks like Donny Osmond to me! So, there you are, our brushes with fame... Hope you all are having a wonderful spring! Love...jackie( I was hugged by Chuck Wicks) mckinstry!!!
Hey Everyone! Lots to tell you about since I last wrote!!! After Amy-Beth turned 21 things were quiet for about two weeks, then Brad and Amanda packed up their household goods and moved into our guest room on the 22nd of January. It was so fun having them! A little quality time before they go so far away...Well, during their last week at the house, my Step-Dad Ken had a mild heart attack but he also needed a quadruple bypass! So, thanks to Delta sky miles Ron racked up with the Army travel, I rushed there and arrived the afternoon before the surgery. It all went wonderfully, ICU Nurses ROCK!, the doc wasn't bad either, ha! So now we have a much heathier Schneider Ken and we are all so HAPPY! Thankyou Lord and all of you that knew about it, your prayers were much, much appreciated! I have to say that I did LOVE getting to see my nephew Keagen, that was a really wonderful bright spot to the time in the frigid north! I am also extremely thankful for my family, both my kids and Ron and my brothers and parents! We all seem to know what is needed and our faith just makes the load lighter...
So, now we have the kids in Germany, Bad Windsheim near Illesheim, Brad's new unit is C Company, 2-159th I do believe, let me know Brad if I still have it wrong!! Ha! They have sent gorgeous photos and we are so jealous. They still have no car and no household goods, lots of borrowed things from the Army Lending Closet for now. They walk alot, things are so close. If you want their address please send me a private email and I will give it to you. We SKYPE with them every day or so, I talked to Amanda just a bit ago, so much fun, we both have video cameras! Amy-Beth is still plugging along in school and going to Hockey games with Alex! She is looking into Internships required for her major, Public Relations.
Now I am washing clothes, I ran and got cat food at walmart and now I will continue laundry and make a new purse with fabric I got on a shopping trip with my friends last week! Ya! Have fun looking at the snow photos I just posted. It was really beautiful! Talk at you all later...love you...jackie
It finally happened! Our last child turned 21 years old... I think we may have been in denial that it would ever happen, BUT she fooled us! We were secure in the thought that she needed us and we had to be there for her every want and need...BUT, at this very moment she is in Indiana with her friend Jenna waiting for a Chuck Wicks concert at an adult establishment, where she wants him to sing her "Happy Birthday". This is the guy that sings the song "Stealing Cinderella", the tear jerker of all songs...They just got in the car (Jenna's) after getting AB's new Driver's License and drove up! Sniff, Sniff...They didn'T NEED US and didn't really consult us...more like informed us...This is a bitter sweet moment for all parents, I guess we were some ready but are you ever really, ready, ready?
So, it's done, not much left to do, she's got 18 months or 3 semesters left in school and a really fun future ahead. Tomorrow she will be with Alex, the boyfriend and they will go to a hockey game. Our Baby Girl, the tomboy! Happy Birthday Sweetie Girl!
What a red letter day for the McKinstry's! Bradley graduated flight school and recieved his wings! The same wings I pinned his dad with 20 years ago last month! It has been a long difficult road but well worth it in the end. Last night was the Grad Ball and we all had a nice time! Ron was the guest speaker so we were in the Receiving line greeting everyone as they came into the ballroom at the club. That was fun! Then Ron did the speech and he did great! He decided against showing the photos of Brad when he was little in his flight gear! Ha! It was very uplifting and the class gave him a beautiful gift of framed aircraft photos and a plaque in the middle, he has already hung it in his office! They all signed it too. It has been a whirlwind for two days! We ended it with lunch at our favorite Korean restaurant, Choi's in Daleville.
I could go on but Church is calling so I will let you off the hook! Take care...God Bless...and as Ron said last night, "Remember, keep the dirty side down and the rotor in the green!"
Merry Christmas! Here we are celebrating the birth of our savior with family and friends earlier at church... it has been so wonderful! After a week of a stomach virus we are partially human Ron and I. We did have to cancel the large gathering we were going to have for Christmas dinner tomorrow though, no energy to shop and certainly no energy to cook!!! Also no appetite, that's sad. So all the plans will have to be on hold for next year!
I uploaded our family photo and some from the gift opening, what a hoot! I wrapped the boots for Amy-Beth from Grama Jan in TWO seperate bags! She did not get them at the same time! It was great!!!! We had her convinced that we may have left it in the snow in Nebraska when we were loading the truck! Brad and Amanda got a beautiful nativity from Chuck and Becky, a great thing to commemorate their first Christmas together, we all received gift cards, a digital photos frame, aviation jewelry and pajamas quite cozy! It has been great and even now they are all laughing in the living room!!!
We want to thank the Lord for all our friends and family, far and near, those we have seen lately and those not enough...We love you all and wish you a blessed new year! God Bless! love...jackie, ron, bradley, amanda, and amy-beth
Hey!
I have added the photos I took on Thanksgiving. We went to Amy-Beth's boyfriend's, brother's house and met some of his family. We had a great time and these are just a few of the photos I have that turned out. I have some more but they must be on the other computer that is still on the way to the warranty place. The boyfriend's name is Alex, his niece is Lanie, if I got that right. The cute guy with the black dog is Justin, my little cousin on the Lowell side and the people in the boat are Mark and Ruth Krautkremmer and their dog Molly. We visited them in October at their place on Lake Blackshear in Georgia. So much fun! Well, that's all for now, take care...jackie
Oh my goodness! The trip went so well, we couldn't have asked for better weather (minus the blizzard going to Nebraska!) or lower gas prices!!! Ha! We saw as many folks as we could and it was so fun! Today I spent the day vacuming and washing floors, washing clothes and generally bleaching all the surfaces in the house from little cat paws! They go nuts when we are gone...My car still needs washing from the cat paws, they had free run of the garage while we were gone...Ron got a call from work yesterday on our drive back, so he signed in a day early, to go to a meeting, imagine that! And he says he's not a work-a-holic!!! Ya right! By the way, I added a photo to this page of Chuck and I at a table made out of the Lowell Hanging Tree from Lowell Nebraska! I kid you not, we went to a museum and they let us sit at it and take photos! Way cool!
Anyway, I am going to get going so I can get some sleep and get ready for Christmas decorating tomorrow. love to all...jackie
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL THE MCKINSTRY'S
