May 19 Songs are Ready for Downloading!!
Hey, Maryland Ukulele Jammers!
Only three more days until our next strum fest! Please join us this
Sunday, May 19, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m downstairs at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Gaithersburg (
map). We'll be thrilled to see all-comers. Spread the word!
We've got some wonderful tunes that Jammers will be presenting this month. Head on over to the
website and download your copies today! Remember to print out and bring two copies, so that we'll have plenty to share with visitors or Jammers who weren't able to download their own.
Once again, we will have some fun uke-a-licious door prizes for attendees. And no, we aren't going to tell you in advance what they are.
![Wink]()
Reminder: if you haven't done so already, let us know you are coming using our (anonymous)
virtual headcount. It really helps us with setup and being able to accommodate all participants.
Did you forget to sign-up to present a song this month? Never fear, there are still a few slots available. If contact us and get your music to us in the next 24 hours, we can upload it to the website. Otherwise, we'll ask you to bring 30 copies with you to the jam.
What to Bring
Ukulele! Or two! Or three!
A music stand
A 3 ring binder or other holder for songs
A $5.00 donation (suggested)
We'll also have 4 or 5 extra music stands for loan, courtesy of
Victor Lizt Music Center. You can purchase them for $10 a piece.
Looking forward to seeing many of you on Sunday! And if you can't come this time, mark your calendars for the next jam on Sunday June 16.
Mahalo and happy strumming!

Can you believe that it's been almost a month since the launch of the Maryland Ukulele Jam?!? Thank goodness we only have to wait another week before the next one! Join us on

Are you planning to be there? Click
here to add to our (anonymous) virtual headcount. Knowing how many folks might show up really helps with setup and supplies. Thanks in advance!
We could use a little help with setup. Are you able to come 20-30 minutes early? Send us an email (
mdukejam@gmail.com) and we'll let you know where you can lend a hand.
What to Bring
Ukulele! Or two! Or three!
A music stand
A 3 ring binder or other holder for songs
A $5.00 donation (suggested)
Why two copies of each song? We ask that all Jammers download your music from our website before coming to the jam and bring it with you. If you bring an extra copy, then music will be available for any visitors or for someone to borrow in the event they have forgotten or can't download. Unlike during our first jam, we will not have ability to make copies onsite.
Got a Song You Want to Present?
Well, then, click right
here to add your name to the list of presenters and upload a copy of your song.
Got a song you like and want on the playlist, but don't want to present? That's okay, too. Upload the song anyway, and then shoot us an email so we can work out having someone else lead it this time or at a future jam.
Can't upload? Then just send it to
mdukejam@gmail.com. Either way, we'll be sure it gets onto the website for everyone to download.
A few tips for presenters:
- Please submit your song(s) electronically and in advance! No later than Wednesdaybefore the jam is preferred. That way others have time to download and strum through.
- If possible, put your songs in 14pt type or larger, and keep them to no more than 2 pages. If you send your song in early enough, Nani can do some re-formatting for you.
- If you can't get your song in electronically or in time to be posted on the website, please bring 30 copies with you to the jam!
Questions? Ideas? Comments?
Send us an email, give us a call, post a comment on the website or Facebook.
Look for another email from us in the coming week, with reminders and any updates.
See you at the jam!
