Delivery of Artwork
Yesterday I delivered my artwork to the Bare Metal Gallery after I was done with work. Of course it opened up and poured right about the time I was headed to the gallery. So it was the Scot-Irish girl against the elements- like that's even a contest ;) Thankfully there was a lull in the rain, and with the help of my wonderful husband and a huge umbrella, we managed to get all 5 pieces in without even a spot of rain on them. They are now priced and hung in their new home for the next 3 months. If you live in the area stop by The Bare Metal Gallery at 79 Duke Street in Northumberland and take a look. I am very excited about this opportunity and I'd love your feedback!
Plein Air event in Mifflinburg
I had a fabulous time painting in the Plein Air event in Mifflinburg this past Saturday. I took Hank down to Buffalo Creek and painted the covered bridge on 4th St. I think Hank had a great time too- he swam in the creek, slept in the sunshine, sniffed out other dogs and other wildlife. He also slept all day on Sunday. My painting took second place- runner up to Best of Show. The best of show painting was done by a man who had been a professional artist for many years and has since retired from that. It made me feel pretty good that one of my pieces could compete with a painting done by a man who has devoted most of his life to art!
Penn State Milton Hershey Medical Center Exhibition
Hi all! Just as an update, the opening gala for the Penn State Milton Hershey Medical Center Exhibit coordinated By Center Stage went fabulously. Today was an absolutely beautiful day in Central PA, and I took full advantage of it! I got up very early to catch the sunrise over the farm fields. I haven't reviewed all the photos yet, but I think I got some great pictures. More to come!
Sermon Series Extended
Just to let everyone know, I have been asked to continue painting along with the sermons at the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene through the end of March. The theme is going to continue to center on "Growing Christians in the Kingdom of God." This Sunday I will be finishing the painting I have been working on for the last 5 weeks. The following Sunday (February 18th) I will be starting a second painting to coincide with the sermons until the end of March. If you're able, I hope you can make it in!
Yesterday was supposed to be warm and sunny initially, so I made a plan to spend the morning hours from sunrise to mid-morning getting some new shots. Well, it was cloudy and about 26 degrees. Those who know me also know that this would not deter me from my mission. We were going to have some sun peeking through until about 9, so I piled Hank (our chocolate lab) and my camera equipment in the car and went out anyway. I got a few good photos before I lost the light, but nothing great. Hank had a blast though- all the new smells, and the geese! I'll be posting some new images soon!
Welcome to my site! I am very excited about this, as it has been long overdue. I hope you are inspired by the work that you see, as I am constantly inspired by the beauty of the world around me. Keep checking in as I will be posting images of my fine artwork and graphic design as well. Enjoy!
