Last Thursday, June 10, 2010, I had the pleasure of photographing the GED Graduates from Grayson County College Adult Basic Education.  GCC Adult Basic Education is a wonderful program that is free to the public.  Students in the program gain assistance with GED preparation or Refresher Classes to improve academic skills for college classes or job enrichment.  Appreciation is extended to the instructors and administrative staff for their enthusiasm and passion in the assistance they provide the students. 

Congratulations to the Graduates of 2010!!!

Sherman Fright Fest was a great success.  Hats off to the Sherman Police Department and the fabulous job they did in hosting the Fright Fest.  Hundreds of families enjoyed this years event; and for this first time business, I too enjoyed greeting the families, passing out candies, and  documenting this event with pictures.  I look forward to the next Fright Fest. Happy Fall Season!  Halloween, Thanksgiving, and soon to follow Christmas are all arriving and with the season is the new event line-up. I have loved working as freelance photographer for Tops in Lex, and I will truly miss working with Zach and the rest of the staff, but my new destination is Texas.  A native of Texas I am looking forward to being back in the state, and building my photography business here.  I will still be making trips to Kentucky as I have left behind my daughter and many wonderful friends, so whether you are in Kentucky or Texas and would like me to assist you in meeting your future photography needs please contact me at melissa@melissayoungimages.com

January was quick to pass, and I so enjoyed the photography events.  The pageants were wonderful and a great opportunity to meet some wonderful young ladies and their families.  Now it's time to bring in February.  I already have a few shoots on the itinerary and look for ward to many more.  Please contact me for your photography needs in the Bluegrass.

Texas Springtime Events

Many great events started off the Spring in Sherman, Denison, Pottsboro, and now Prosper; from formal affairs to family fun, the events promote community.  It is my pleasure to capture these events, and provide you with photos to share and treasure.  Please  enjoy and let me know of other events that I might offer my services to you, your business, or organization.

Castle Post - Red Cross Event

The Red Cross event at the Castle Post was fabulous.  I was thankful to have the opportunity to share in the excitement of being at the Versailles Road Castle.  The Castle was beautiful, the people a delight to share the evening with, and the food fabulous.  The weather may have been cold, the snow may have been falling outside, but that did not prevent the guests from having a delightful evening at the Castle Post.  The scenery was breath-taking and everybody was in awe of the beautiful decor; it was obvious that great care had been given to the details.  I for one will always remember my first visit to Castle Post.
