All windows were hand built on site to original specifications. No other building in Raleigh of this era has true divided lights or arched.  A new roof and half-round zinc gutters and downspouts were installed in 2005.

A bit over grown, but with a vision and a little effort, this area would be perfect for a patio. 2008-07-21

1890's Knitting Mill in Downtown Raleigh

Space Available!

Here is an opportunity to live or work within an exquisite piece of history. The Melrose Knitting Mill was built in the late 1800’s in downtown with the kind of craftsmanship that is unmatched today.

There are three floors with a combined 14,000 square feet. The first floor has been leased but the second and third floors are currently available.

Melrose Knitting Mill is within walking distance of Glenwood South that sports a variety of lively bars, restaurants and other nightlife venues. You’ll also find corporate and government offices as well as museums and quaint shops in Glenwood South. There are plans for a light rail platform as the main government stop next door (in the old tire supply building on Lane Street).

Uses for this space include: offices, condos, restaurants, galleries or other retail options. Take a look at the space and it just may fit your needs.
