Hi Family and Friends! Seeing as we all do not live as close to each other as we would often like and life seems to get busier and busier, we decided to set up this website which we will keep updated regularly with important Gebhart family news and pictures! Hope you enjoy!
Love,
Cody and Michelle
Tatum just had her 9 month check up yesterday and has a clean bill of health. We've gone through some sickness the past couple of months, from sinus infection to some kind of bacterial infection to pink eye in both eyes at the same time. Now that that has all passed, we are on the road to recovery and we have our normal Tatum back.
She's started developing quite rapidly the past couple of months. She now has 8 teeth so she eats more solid foods now than ever before (as many of you witnessed on Thanksgiving :)) She's constantly on the move crawling and pulling up on everything now...even though she's bumped her head several times, she kind of takes after her father and that hard head of her's takes over and she doesn't even flinch most of the time! She even took off pushing a clothes basket walking behind it last weekend, so it won't be too long before our little girl isn't so little any more. She's started clapping to congratulate herself on accomplishments, and nodding yes and no on a regular basis, too. She's still on the quite petite size...measuring in on the less than 3 percentile in height (thank all of the family members for that one :)), the 5-10 percentile in weight, but that head of her's is measuring in the 40-50 percentile range!
We've been on the go non-stop now for several months and we are anticipating our time off around the holidays to visit with more family members and show her off! Be on the look out for Christmas cards in the mail soon.
Wishing all of you the blessed and merriest of holiday seasons!

Well it has been about 4 months since we last “wrote” an update….but we have been posting new pictures regularly! Tatum is now 6 months old and we can’t even believe it. She got her first two teeth (bottom middle) just after she turned 4 months old and those are the only ones that have come in so far. She is such a joy and such a happy easy going baby girl. She is getting ready to be on the move! She gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth….she will take one or two crawls to reach a toy she really wants (usually a lovey) but stops after that. She is still doing great at daycare and is still the best baby they have (so they tell me). Her favorite games are to play peek-a-boo or anything that surprises her. She just giggles and giggles. Oh did I mention she sleeps through the night……AMAZING! We put her down about 8 p.m. then I usually have to wake her up in the morning to get her ready for daycare! She has been eating solid food for a few months now. I have been making all my own baby food …..i am actually pretty proud of myself and I feel like I am just giving her the best start! So far she has had carrots, squash, green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, apples, pears, peaches, avocado, cantaloupe, and peach/mango mix! She has not turned her nose up to anything yet…..she loves her food more than her bottles! Cody and I are staying busy with work, house work, and just being parents. Time flies, we just take it day by day and learn as we go, but we are having so much fun! Hope to hear or see everyone soon.
All our love,
Michelle, Cody and Tatum
It's been a while since we posted anything, so we thought that today, our first Mother's Day, would be the perfect time to update all of you on everything going on.
Since we've brought Tatum home, everything passes so much quicker these days. Michelle has been at home these past 10 weeks, and as the weeks pass on, she draws closer and closer to returning to work - something she is not very excited about :) She will return to work the last week of May, and our little girl will start growing up without us seeing every move. One of our wonderful neighbors will be watching Tatum for the 1st month that Michelle returns to work. It is such a blessing to have great neighbors and the ease factor of just having to drop her off next door should hopefully make for an easy transition to this day care thing. After the first month, Tatum will become a regular attendee of Bearfoot Lodge, a local day care that Michelle & I fell in love with the first time we walked through the door. We are hoping for great things to come, but are a bit reluctant because we are having to leave her in the care of someone else. Pray that it works out for us, please :)
In the 10 weeks that have passed since bringing our baby girl home, so much has changed. Tatum has been through many changes so far. She went from breast milk (long story), to a soy formula (even longer story) to finally a milk based formula that seems to have eased more than one issue. She's gained several pounds, hasn't grown but about 2 inches (thanks to her parents being below average size), and still has ALL that hair!! She coos all the time, smiles almost on command, and is the happiest baby in the world. She plays on a play mat that one of Michelle's friends (thanks Hope) got us and thinks it's the most interesting thing in the universe. We have grown very knowledgable about her crys and facial expressions...The funniest thing is when she farts or has to poop - Classic Comedy :) All in all, the doctor thinks everything is progressing perfectly. We really haven't had any major excitement with her...guess that stems from the very uneventful pregnancy that Michelle experienced.
We would like to thank each and every one of you that have played a part in our special experience. Without all the love and support (especially the advice), we wouldn't be the proud parents that we are today. Please continue to pray for our family in this unique adventure. Hope to see each and everyone of you very soon.
Love you guys,
Cody, Michelle, and Tatum (Layla and Simba, too :))
Well, we got to take our little Tatum home on Thursday afternoon. Everything went smooth...probably because Daddy was driving :) Anyway, Michelle and Tatum are doing wonderfully, thanks to help from Wendy. They are both adjusting to their new surroundings just as expected. We all just hope that Tatum stays as easy as she has been so far. We went to the doctor yesterday for the 5 day check up...Tatum has gained back 5 of the 11 oz. that she lost in the hospital and has little to no jaundice, so we go back in a couple of weeks. Other than the pure adrenaline rush and overwhelming admoration for my wife and new daughter, this parenting thing couldn't get much easier :) I know, I know...I just jinxed myself! Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers...we are all doing AWESOME!!!
Love,
Cody, Michelle & Tatum
WE HAVE LIFT OFF!!! The much awaited arrival of our daughter happened last night. We held out to the last minute to tell everyone the name, so hopefully you will all understand. Tatum Nicole Gebhart was born last night @ 7:55 p.m. She weighed in @ 6 lbs 12 oz and 18" long. Both Michelle and Tatum are doing wonderfully and after the c-section Michelle will be in the hopital until Friday morning. We can't thank all of you enough for the thoughts and prayers throughout our journey. We'll keep you guys updated.
Love Michelle, Cody and Tatum :)
Well, the time has drawn near...Michelle and I will be checking into the hospital tonight @ 9 p.m. We will be staying overnight and our 1st daughter will be born tomorrow. We can't even start to explain how much love and comfort we feel from all of our friends and family. With all the phone calls, texts, emails, and gifts, we are truly blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives. I don't know what we'd do without all of you! Michelle and I are very confident that everything will go smoothly tomorrow and have the utmost faith in our wonderful doctor. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers tonight and tomorrow...Lord knows if this little girl is anything like her daddy, she'll be stubborn as hell and it'll be a long day tomorrow :)
God bless to you all,
Cody, Michelle and Baby Who!
That is the cutest strawberry I have EVER SEEN!!!!
