Day in my life #5

ahhhhhh .....

LIFE IS CRAZY. so busy. soo much going on. can hardly catch a breath!
working lots .. so no complaints! but kinda wish this was the beginning of summer, not the end so i can have a bit of a break!

Working 3 jobs and shooting on the side! SO many opportunities have been coming my way, its been awesome.
Shot at a golf tournament, assisted weddings, (first one in clear lake!) booking weddings for next year, engagement shoots, (for a close friend from jr high :)) and much much more.

Keep the work coming my friends! I love it all

Day in my life #4

Wana make this short & sweet..

Lovin' the heat, walking everyday! Getting my tan on and looking for more opportunities to shoot in this amazing weather!!

:D

Day in my life #3

Its been a few weeks.. a few more then i expected before writing here again..

Been busy, always looking for more opportunities to shoot but lately its been pretty steady so no complaints. Shot some old friends waay back from jr high last week and it was so good to see some familiar faces from my past. The pics were perfect and these studs have no problems posing seriously or just jokes.. it was alot of fun. Turning the shoot into a book for them so i'm excited to see the final product when it comes back!

This weekend was a blur of sun, police, red & white and no spots to park. The Osborne Street Festival was full swing on thursday night and friday all day and my studio and i ( The River Studio ) were ready for it! We had our work under a tent out for sale and set up a boudoir shoot under another tent where we dressed up ladies and some gents who weren't sweaty enough from the sun to change into dresses and hats to get a picture taken. We took shifts shooting, editing and selling from 8 in the morning till about 9 that night. I also had the opportunity to roam around the street shooting the hustle and bustle of people shopping, eating, listening to bands and drinking cold beers to keep them hydrated under the boiling sun. There was so much to see! SO many different people & different styles. People brought a wide range of dogs with them, some decked out in red and white for canada day and others in the arms of there owners because they were too hot and tired to walk. I wish i could have spent more time on the street because i know that i didn't capture enough.. We all had an amazing time tho and once we got into the system of shooting editing & printing we were rollin'.

To all of you who are wondering, yes my mom is finally home. Its been so nice and i know she doesn't miss her hospital bed and most of all the food given to her. I do spend every morning waking up before the sun comes out to take mom to the hospital where she is assessed and given antibiotics. Its been tough getting up everyday so early, but we're looking foreword to her not having to go everyday and for both of us to sleep in a little earlier then seven every morning

Im loving the heat these days.. spend my afternoons soaking up the sun and going for long walks whenever i can. I couldnt ask for more and only hope more shoots will come up so i can take advantage of the amazing weather before we go back to the freezing cold!

Thanks all :)

Day in my life #2

So i guess im not taking this whole blog thing as serious as i thought i would.. not surprised - yikes!
Anyways.. to give you an update on my mom, day 40 and she's still in the hospital. Its been more rough days then good days since we keep having to go back on forth finding out when she can come home. One day she's doing great, out and about running laps up and down her hallway in the ward, and other days shes sick in bed with a bad feaver which causes the doctors to keep her there. We were all hoping and praying she would be out by her birthday to celebrate her 60th! Sadly that morning she was in bed with a feaver and not doing well, so she came home for a couple hours but went back to the hospital that night. So the birthday plans we had for her will have to wait for a day she can really enjoy it. I know she appreciates all the cards and phone calls that she's received so i thank you on her behalf, especially on her birthday :)

So proud of you moms, just turned 60 and going strong through everything! <3

Lately im finding myself shooting alot of kids birthdays. (if you havent seen in my album already) Did my second one yesterday with the most beautiful weather outside and have a couple more coming up this month. i love it! love to capture the moments with close families and friends of their kids that they normally wouldnt be able to get trying to entertain everyone. I imagaine myself to be a fly on the wall and catching the moments that matter most.

Thanks for all you guys who have checked out my site and continue to spread my name around. I appreciate you so much and only hope for more work to come my way

Day in my life #1

Hey there, seeing as this is a cool opportunity to keep everyone updated with whats going on i thought this could be the beginning of my blog?!? .. (lets see how long it lasts) Most importantly i want to keep people updated with the status of my amazing mom. Its day 21 of her being admitted to HSC for her Bone Marrow Transplant. Days in our family consist of going back and forth from home, to the hospital, to work, to do errands, then end the day off at the hospital saying goodnite to mom before she goes to sleep. Its been an emotional rollercoster for all of us as moms counts go up and then down and with the transplant, which happened on May 4, seeing as her body adjusts to the new marrow and the effect is has on her. She's one tough lady and i couldn't be more proud of her being stuck in her tiny room through this beautiful weather. We did our best decorating her room and she gets compliments daily of how cool it looks with the balloons and pictures everywhere.
She's on Day 12 according to the doctors and we wait until Day 30 to find out when she's able to come home.. so we take it one day at a time, keeping her company and bringing her coffee & ice-cream to pass the time
