Classroom Prayers
Opening Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, hear my prayer. Keep me in your loving care. Be with me all through the day, In my work and in my play. Amen.
Prayer before snack: Thank you for the world so sweet. Thank you for the food we eat. Thank you for the birds that sing. Thank you, God, for everything!

PM Snack Schedule

Letter of the Week
Each week we will be focusing on one letter of the alphabet (unless it is a short week). I have built in 10 minutes each day to work on increasing the children's awareness of the alphabet and beginning literacy skills. Some fun activities to extend this learning into the home are: *Searching through every day words to find the letter of the week *Playing "I Spy", sighting items that begin with the letter of the week *Verbally matching letters to the sounds they make *Playing rhyming games such as, "I'm thinking of a word that rhymes with cat and starts with /b/"
Your Child Should Be Able To Count To...
3 year old ~ 10 4 year old ~ 20 5 year old ~ 30 or higher!!
Reading is a critical skill that is necessary for later academic success. The more young children are read to, the greater their interest in mastering reading! Dedicate at least 10 minutes a night to spend reading with your child!
*Reminder: Scholastic book order forms will be coming home with your child every month. Books can be ordered both online and/or through the form sent home. Please ask me if you have any questions!
Classroom Saint
We have officially selected our classroom saint. From now on, the Preschool room(s) will be referred to as the St. Nicholas room! I am very excited to share this information with the preschoolers and look forward to teaching and learning about his life together!
