Welcome to MOMS Club® of Mechanicsville, MD!

Whether you're looking for support and advice from other stay-at-home moms or fun, safe activities for you & your children, the MOMS Club^® of Mechanicsville may be just what you need!

The MOMS Club^® of Mechanicsville Chapter was founded in July 2004. The club is a support group for mothers who stay at home with their children, including those who have home-based businesses and those who work part-time but are home with their children for some portion of the day. It is one of 2100 chapters of the international non-profit organization The Moms Offering Moms Support (MOMS) Club®, which has been in existence since 1983 and has over 110,000 members.

MOMS Club^® of Mechanicsville is open to moms zoned for the following elementary school districts in St. Mary's County, MD: Dynard, Lettie Dent, Mechanicsville, Oakville, & White Marsh. We have a general monthly meeting with speakers, discussions and other fun programs. We have playgroups for all ages, and go on outings to parks, museums and other local attractions. We also have a variety of special interest groups within the club and participate in philanthropic projects to benefit others in our community. Some things that make us special are:

We meet during the day, when at-home mothers need the most support.
We believe that being a mother shouldn't be isolating, so children are always welcome at all MOMS Club activities.
We understand how busy moms are, so we try to schedule a wide variety of activities throughout the month so everyone can attend at least a few.
Because we understand that moms need support regardless of their children's age, moms of school-age children are also welcome.

Goals and Principles

The MOMS Club is a non-profit group that helps make at-home mothers feel good about their decision to stay home with their children. Our goals and principles are:

To provide a support group for moms who choose to stay at home to raise their children.
To provide a forum for topics of interest to mothers.
To perform at least one service project yearly helping mothers and children.
That women must be free to choose their personal path to fulfillment.
That a family's decision for a mother to stay at home to raise the children often involves considerable financial sacrifice.
That there is no right way to raise children, but our members have common concern in raising their children in a healthful way.
That, for women who choose it, raising children is an important and fulfilling full-time job.
