Class updates & news

Mystery Reader - updated 1/20/12

Wouldn't it be exciting for you to surprise your child's class by coming in to read a favorite book!    Please let me know when you are available, and we will set up a time for you to come in and do this.  (Feel free to bring your own or let me know if you would like to choose from my personal library.)  Remember to keep it a secret (even from your own child.)

New Hours - updated 12/05/11

Please keep our class hours in mind.  AM class: 7:45 - 11:00; PM class: 11:30 - 2:45.

Sight Words and Homework - updated 1/20/12

Sight Word Tests will be given every two weeks until 4/13/12, when they will be weekly. Please practice sight words with your children.  You will find it in the Forms section of this website. I will also send home another copy of the list, if you request it. The seventh test, on Friday, 1/27/12, is on the words: with, like, not, no, play, & yes.  Homework packets are also available under the Forms section of this website. We have math and ELA (English Language Arts.) It is an enrichment to our curriculum and does not teach new concepts. It only reinforces what has been learned in class. Homework is optional. If you would like your child to complete the homework, but need me to print it out, please let me know. Again, the homework is not mandatory. The Januay packets are due on January 31st, 2012.

Be Kind - updated 9/26/11

EKA is proud to be a supporter of the Josh Stevens Foundation. The purpose of the foundation is to reward children for their Kind Acts. Each Friday staff wear our “Be Kind" shirts. We encourage students to wear their "Be Kind" shirts too. Shirts can be purchased at the front office for $10. The sale of these shirts helps to support the Josh Stevens Foundation and their mission to continue their Kindness Revolution.
