Dolch Sight Words
We will be practicing reading these words daily to ensure sight word recall during reading. Use the checklist or flashcards from "My Files" or make your own to practice them at home. I will also be sending word rings with these words your child needs to practice. The goal is to have 98% success in recall of all words in the pre-primer, primer and grade 1 lists by the end of grade 1.

Star of the Week
Juliana in grade 2 is the Star of the week for showing the virtue of Faith. She is always reverent and shares wonderful prayers and is a good friend to anyone in need.Emilia in grade 1 is the Star of the week for showing the virtue of Faith. She is a lovely and caring person, showing reverence during prayer, and respect for our class and other students.

WELCOME BACK !
Hello Parents and Guardians of my new and fabulous class! What a pleasure our first day was together! I am looking forward to a wonderful year with these students! Please check this site regularly as this is my main method of communication with you, and I'm sure you'll all find it very handy!
Caution: We have a little one in our class with a major allergy to coconut and coconut oil. Please be aware of this when bringing treats into the classroom. Thanks!

POETRY BOOKS and LIBRARY BOOKS
Please return the poetry books on Monday mornings so I can add the new one for the week. These poems we will be reading all week in class. It is a great way to introduce phonics skills and other reading skills.
This year Library time is on Wednesday with Mrs. Letendre, so please ensure you send back your child's book by then so that they may take a new one out. You may want to send a large freezer bag with their name on it to help protect the books they are bringing home (I know what the inside of little people backpacks look like!).
