Drops In a Bucket is our classwork/homework that focuses on skills in various strands.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We are working in Chapter 13, Greece and Rome.
We will be studying Ancient Civilizations.
WRITING
We have been working on our second Narrative writing for this year!
We have been working on onomatopoeia, simile, indenting, double spacing, and adding details.
READING
We are working on Theme 2 - traditions. The story this week is titled "Dancing Rainbows."
READER'S RESPONSES: Students should be writing their responses in the spiral Reader's Response Journal I provided them at the beginning of the second week of school. If they have not correctly completed at least 8 responses by the end of this week, they will be required to sit out at recess to finish reading and responding in their journal.
This lesson in responsibility is very important at their malleable age. Anything you can do at home to encourage a can-do, pro-active attitude will promote your child's success in my class and in their future.
MATH
We are going to begin working in "Landmarks in the Hundreds" which is another book that focuses on multiplication.
LOOK FOR: Math Investigations at Home Manual for "Landmarks in the Hundreds" and Drops In a Bucket Worksheets

SPELLING
Monday: 3 times each

Wednesday: ABC order
