Welcome to Agassiz Fine Arts! Throughout the school year, Agassiz students have many opportunities to strut their stuff! The Winter Dance Show, Fall/Winter/Spring Assemblies, the Talent Show, and the Spring Musical are not-to-be-missed events! Additionally, students will have opportunities to shine during class time with performance projects. This looks to be an engaging and fabulous year for all.
Music:
Students Pre-K to 5th grade follow a Kodaly-based curriculum, learning to read and write notes and rhythms, sing, move and play Orff and percussion instruments. 6th-8th grade students participate in units of study with a strong emphasis on music history, composition, and percussion.
Dance:
Students are learning about the elements of dance within a basic dance class format. K-8th students have begun working on the choreography for the Winter Dance Show. This year's theme is "Dancing Through The Decades."
Band continues at Agassiz School for the 2011-2012 school year! Tuition-based band classes will be offered through Music Education Services twice a week to students in grades 4-8 (Tuesdays and Fridays before school). We are very excited to continue this program in our school!
