This week we have been very busy learning all about insects. Please be sure to ask your child what they have learned. We also have worked on addition and subtraction strategies and completed our first "All About" books. Next week we will continue learning about insects, begin research for our second "All About Books", work on adjectives and story elements. Please ask your child about characters, setting, problem and solution when you are reading with them.
Next week the Cupcake Wars begin! The children may purchase a paper cupcake to decorate and hang in the hall for $1. The class with the most cupcakes will win a cupcake party from Mr. Pezoldt. The class is very excited about this. All proceeds will go to Relay for Life and you may purchase as many cupcakes as you would like. Thanks for supporting such a great cause.
Also we will be collecting food for the Hamilton Mill Food Pantry next week. The class with the most food will win a popsicle party.
Thanks so much to everyone that sent in supplies to help us get through the rest of the year. I really appreciate it.
Today is the 5th grade kickball game. If you would like to come watch, you may pay $2 at the door. The games begin at 4 on the lower playground. Hope to see you there!
Have a great weekend!
Good afternoon! This week we have been working on long and short vowels and when you use each one. This has been difficult for some of us. Please go over the vowels with your child. You may want to have them point out long and short vowels when they are reading. We also have been working on How To stories and addition (combinations up to 10). We have done several fun St. Patrick's day activities. Hope you have a great St. Patrick's Day!
Next week we will continue the above skills as well as talk about living and nonliving things and plants. We would still love to have plants and seeds to examine. If you have some that we could use, we would greatly appreciate it. We would like to grow our own grass so if you have leftover grass seed or clear plastic cups that would be great! For math we still would love some ZooPals paper plates. Thanks so much!!!
Next Wednesday is our picture day. If you would like a class picture, please fill out the picture form and send in the money for it. The individual pictures will come home for you to preview before purchasing (THIS IS NOT TRUE FOR THE CLASS PICTURE).
