The 2011-2012 school year has begun and is going well. We will be talking about the differences in formal/informal language. This seems to be a major issue with children currently and something we hope to improve upon. Sentence Patterns 1-12 will also be covered this quarter. These are taught and used daily to provide students with a variety of sentence structure. Finally, we will do our poetry unit. My student teacher, Ms. Ball from SIUE, is eager to explore the world of poetry and pass on her love of the topic.
