October was full of educational, exciting opportunities. We ended the month with a trip to the Ohio Caverns and a wonderful bird show by the Cincinnati Zoo.
Be sure to check out the videos below to see what we have been up to.
On Monday and Tuesday of this week, students from the Aviation Club went up in a Cessna airplane at the Wright Brothers Airport. Who would ever have thought that we could have this much fun!!!!
I had the chance to go up with Becca and video of the flight is posted under our videos. There is also a slide show of the photos and includes an aerial shot of our school. WHAT FUN!
This is what happens when we have a theme of Kids Taking Flight.
If you get a chance - watch the slide show and see our flight over Kings Island. The final group of club members go up next Monday. I can't wait - I get to go up again with Dylan and Jacob.
The students have enjoyed the opportunity to learn outside the classroom with trips to Cox Arboretum, the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, the Washington Township/ Centerville Library, and most recently the Victoria Theatre for a one man performance of Lewis and Clark.
This week we head off to WPAFB to tour a C-17 and my after-school Aviation Club will take flight on introductory flights with a certified pilot in a Cessna. Great weather is predicted and we will be flying over and photographing Kings Island.
This is a wonderful group of students. They are great listeners, hard workers, and polite and kind to each other.
What more could I ask for.
Be sure to read the weekly newsletters for information about what is going on in our classroom.
Our second week of school was a great one. We had a great time at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. Students learned about raising and showing animals, nutrition, and explored the COSI exhibits.
We worked on creative writing - "If I were a Butterfly...." some very interesting ideas!
