Dear Families,
Please help us add books to our classroom. I've identified a few books at the fair that would make great additions to our classroom library. If you wish to purchase one or more and donate it our class, please visit the book fair. Thank you for supporting our school!
Congratulations to all the winners of today's field day competitions! All of you did a great job. The fourth grade showed great enthusiasm, team work, sportsmanship, and I am proud of each one of you. Great job 4th grade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()
Thank you to everyone who has donated items to the store so far this year. It's really appreciated!
The General Store: Students will have the chance to earn rewards for positive classroom behavior and for turning in homework on time through our general store. Each student earns $.50 in class quarters for bringing in homework neat, completed, and on time and $.50 at the beginning of each day for following the 3 classroom rules. Money can be lost for not following these rules but if a student brings in their homework each day and follows the 3 rules then they will have a few class dollars at the end of the week to spend at the general store for special classroom privileges and small treats. We did something similar last year and the kids LOVED it! But I need your help!
The store can only work through donations. These are inexpensive items such as ice cream sandwiches, candy, used or new toys, dollar store items, fun school supplies, anything would be greatly appreciated! Reward items may contain nuts, wheat, etc. If your child has food allergies please let me know right away. Through the general store students will also practice counting money and making change.
Snacks: Students will be allowed to eat healthy snacks during recess break. Appropriate snacks include cheese sticks, go-gurt, pieces of fruit, crackers, and pretzels. Students should pack snacks that do not require utensils, heating, etc. since they may be taking snacks outside.
Birthdays: One exception to the healthy snack rule is birthday cupcakes. Students can celebrate their birthday with their classmates by bringing cupcakes for each member of the class (The entire 4th grade has recess together so 36 cupcakes would be great!)
Students can bring the cupcakes with them to school in the morning. The class will sing happy birthday and cupcakes will be distributed during recess.Since cupcakes are not normally allowed at snack this makes birthdays even more special for the kids!
