We are in the home stretch. I can’t believe the year is almost over! It has gone by too fast. Only 2 and 1/2 weeks left, and we need to keep up the hard work!
Now that the CRCT is over we can take a breath and get ready for 6th grade! In math we reviewing fractions and decimals. In Language Arts we will be dabbling in some poetry!

1 spiral notebook, 3 or 5 subject
1 composition Notebook
2 folders with 2 pockets and brads
1 zipper pouch or pencil box
2 packages of glue sticks
1 pack of colored pencils
1 box of bandages
1 container of Clorox Wipes
1 yellow highligher
1 box of tissues
· Homework will be assigned nightly with the exception of weekends.
· Assigned homework should take a typical, on-task 5th grader no longer than one hour to complete.
· Unfinished classwork may additionally become part of homework. Therefore, it is in your child’s best interest to use his/her class time wisely to complete classwork.
· A weekly report with graded work attached will be sent home each Friday. A conduct grade for the week is also included in the folder. Please look over the work, sign and return the folder on Monday or the following school day. You will also receive a monthly newsletter informing you of upcoming important dates and the Academic Knowledge and Skills for each curriculum area that will be taught for the month.
