Here are the pictures from the Men's Retreat earlier this month.  This was another great opportunity to worship and grow in the Lord.  I know every year I've gone, the Lord has taught me more of His will for my life, both during the time in Prescott, and throughout the following twelve months leading up to the next retreat.  I hope and pray He has done, and continues to do, the same for you, throughout the year.

I went hunting again this past weekend. It was overall a better trip than last time, though still not very productive as far as number of birds brought home.  Once again, I only got one bird, but this one was a canvasback, my first.  The rest of the trip was definitely better.  I arrived more or less on time, and set up my 2 1/2 dozen decoys.  There was more interest in my spread by the real ducks, but I often was not ready because I was busy trying to find a good place to stand out of sight of the ducks (I forgot my hunting stool), or because I was too busy trying to take pictures of the local scenery.  I could have come home with maybe a few more birds, had I been spot on with my shooting, but all in all, it was still productive.  I'm learning more about waterfowling, and have more ideas about what to try next.  I won't be getting back out to hunt until January, but thankfully the season doesn't end until the end of January, so I should still have at least 2 more hunts before I have to retire the gear until next fall.  I put pictures of the hunt in the Hunting and Fishing album.  Enjoy!

I went duck hunting at Roosevelt Lake yesterday, and what a day it was!  I'll admit that I'm not usually this excited about getting only one duck, but I am thrilled!  It was Bumper's first duck retrieve (the past few years have been extremely unkind in this part of my life), and I got some outstanding photos in the process.  I've included the best of them here, and also included some of the pictures of Bumper and her first retrieve, as well as some of training dummy retrieves.  I also managed to get a nice picture of some ducks passing overhead early in the morning, and a spectacular sunrise hitting Four Peaks.  What made these pictures so beautiful, in my opinion, were the clouds.  Wonderful cloud forms dominated the morning, and I took it all in as I scanned the skies for waterfowl.  Plus, it was my first time to try out my new spinning wing decoy, and my first use of a new pair of waders - that don't leak!  A very exciting trip, indeed!

I added a few pictures to the "Animals and Zoos" album, and I made a new album, "Hunting and Fishing", and stuck some photos from a recent duck hunting trip in there.  Enjoy!
