Small Paper Plates (No styrofoam)
Lysol Wipes
It is hard to believe this school year is winding down to just a few weeks. It has been amazing to observe the progress of all the children. Such amazing personalities have developed in the children as well as the independence that will keep developing for the rest of the their lives. As the year comes to an end, the children continue to work hard and are proud of what they have accomplished.
Our class has been busy the last month preparing for the Science Fair. The theme for our class was, "Our Solar System." We had many activities leading up to the final day of the Science Fair. The best part of the project was making the solar system and putting the it all together. The children were paired off in small groups and reseached their planet, wrote about it and than made a planet out of paper mache for the final presentation.
This has been a successful year, but it could not have been made possible without the help of all our great parents. We would like to thank you all for allowing us the opportunity to teach your child. My Hope is that every student leaves our class with a love of learning.
Hope you all will have a wonderful summer.

Birthday Celebrations
In Montessori, when a child has a birthday, we celebrate his or her life with a birthday celebration. The class gathers in a circle and holding a globe, the birthday child walks around a candle symbolizing the sun. For each year around the sun we show the class a picture of the child that the parent has brought in. After the child has finished walking around the sun, we distribute a small snack or goody if you choose to bring one. Because we only have a very short amount of time for the children to enjoy their treat, please limit this to one small item, such as cheese stick, fruit package, stickers, or a pencil.
Birthday celebrations start at 2:25p.m. Please be in touch when your child has a birthday to set up a day. Parents are invited to enjoy the celebration with the class.
