GACH is a parent resource that we are lucky to have in Hillsborough County. They offer book studies to help educate parents regarding their child's giftedness, outings to fun locations for the kids, and keep you informed about gifted issues in the news, to list a few of the many services they provide. Be sure to visit their website!

2nd grade students are being assigned a short at home project. Students are being given project instructions, a rubric, and a form to help guide them through this fun activity. The assignment is to use a book that your child read regardless of reading level (maybe a favorite book from last year, an AR book at a current level, or a book that may have been read at home with parent help). Select a character and make a puppet based on that character. Your child can make a simple sock puppet or make something more elaborate. The puppet will "retell" the book to the class. It is due to school on November 15 with the Character Puppet form, but students can turn it in early if it's done early.
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year. We are looking forward to a theme of Creating Student Investigators, or CSI. You can expect a year full of infusing science and problem solving across the curriculum and maybe even a mystery or two to be solved... I invite you to join us on Monday, August 22, 2011, for Open House to learn about grade levels specifics for AGP this year.
There have been some minor technical changes. First of all, I am in the process of updating and tweaking this webpage to make it more user friendly and informative for you. There will be a new homepage address for you to add to your favorites but this page will still exist as a link on the new webpage. You'll see the new address on the Mary Bryant Faculty Contact page. Next, the AGP offices are being moved from the 200 building to room 304 in the kindergarten wing. My phone extension will change as there is not an outside line in the new classroom. As soon as I receive my new extension, I will add it to my contact information. However, as there will no longer be a phone on my desk, the most efficient way to contact me this year will be via e-mail.
I'm looking forward to a great year with C.S.I.!!!!
