Parent-Child Project
Then and Now Timeline
Dear Families,
In our upcoming Social Studies Unit we will explore how the world is continually changing. We will be discussing how things have changed from the past to present and will explore the use of a timeline in order to keep events in order. In order to make this come alive to the students, with your help, they will create a timeline of their life. Please keep the focus on the past and present. For example, if your child could read picture books and can now read chapter books include that on the timeline.
The timeline should include:
· 6 events (the first being when they were born)
· Pictures of important events in sequential order. Including label of event with date.
· Title (For example, “Denise: Then and Now”)
This project will be presented and will be displayed in our classroom. Use white poster paper and be creative! You can use glitter, markers, and ribbons. Go all out! I look forward hearing your child present and learn how they have changed over the years.
Thank you for support J
