Our service is at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings, with coffee, treats and fellowship, following worship.
We are a welcoming and friendly congregation. We enjoy visitors who are passing through the area, and encourage those looking for a church family to join us!
Notes for Palm Sunday, April 13, 2014
This Sunday, April 13, is Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week. Ginny Marshall will be our Reader. Our Lectionary Readings will be Matthew 21:1-11; Psalms 118:1-2 and 19-29, and Phillipians 2:5-11. The Gospel Reading will be Matthew 26:14-27.
Greeting you as you enter the sanctuary will be Anna Madison, Christopher Shelly and Caleb Shelly. Once Beverly Micallef’s inspirational music has begun, take a moment to center your heart and soul on God in preparation for worship. Please remember to bring your loose change for our Noisy Change offering, collected by the children of our congregation. After service, we invite you to join us at our weekly Coffee Hour downstairs in Westminster Hall. This week’s hosts are Jan and John Ozoga.
There will be a brief Congregational Meeting immediately following the service. The Session will meet following Coffee Hour.
Please note that items for the May/June newsletter must be submitted by April 20th.
The Deacons will meet in the church kitchen on Tuesday, April 15th.
The Good Friday Service will be held on April 18th at Eden Lutheran Church, beginning at 12:30.
Our weekly services begin at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Jim Ramelis officiating. We welcome you to join our friendly, welcoming congregation, whether you are passing through the area, or are a resident seeking a church family. Your children will enjoy our weekly Sunday School, which runs concurrently with the service. We were the first church built in Munising (1896) and are located at 502 Elm Avenue, on the corner of Elm and Chocolay Street. Christmas Pageant 2013
Our very popular annual Christmas Bazaar will be held on November 23rd. We invite you to attend!
Coming up on Sunday, October 20, 2013...
This Sunday, Oct 20th, is the 29th Sunday of Ordinary Time. Karen Gamelin will be our Reader. She will read Jeremiah 31:27-34 or Psalm 137 and the New Testament Reading 2 Timothy 3:14-4:5. Pastor Jim will read from the Gospel of Luke 18:1-8. Cathy and Bill Weisinger are providing Coffee Hour treats for us.
Meditation Class starts Tues Oct 22 at 2:00. Come join the class, everyone is welcome; it doesn’t matter how much or how little experience you have, everyone can participate. Choir practices at 1:00, so if you have the time get a jump on your meditating by listening to the choir or come join them.
October 26th there will be an Underground Dance. It’s a fun time to watch all the students having a fun time. Come join us! The dance is from 7-10:00 p.m.

Coming up on Sunday, October 13th, 2013...
This coming Sunday is the 28th Sunday of Ordinary Time, Oct 13. The reader is Jan Nicklas; greeters are Glenn and Ginny Marshall. The readings are Psalm 66:1-12 from the Old Testament; 2 Timothy 2:8-15 from the New Testament. The Gospel Reading is from the Book of Luke 17:11-19. Our coffee hour host are Ginny Marshall, Kathy and Libby. There will be a Session meeting after service on the 13th, followed by a Deacons' meeting Tuesday, October 15th at 3:30.
Starting Oct. 22, Pastor Jim's meditation classes will resume at 2:00 in the sanctuary.
The Underground is starting back up this year with a Halloween Dance Oct. 26th. If you would like to volunteer your time, please call Alethea at 202-1493.
