DisneyWorld....it's NOT a small world afterall!

Well, the gang and I just returned from a week-long odyssey, also known as our vacation to DisneyWorld...We've been back for a week  and I can just now feel the blood flow returning to my brain.  It's a physicallly draining and mind-numbing experience... not for the faint of heart!  Disneyworld with three small children would be considered punishment in some parts of the world!  But to be fair, as arduous as the experience was, I wouldn't have missed it for the world.  The hubby(who has a name, and that name is Doriano) and I both missed out on Disney as children, so we were just as into the "magic" as the kids were.  Maybe more! We had the joy of seeing it both through our eyes and the kids' eyes at the same time.  It was filled with wonderful memories for years to come.  And some not so wonderful memories, too...Matthew, who is too old for tantrums at 5, and yet wailing loudly on several occasions.  Ugh. Or Nicholas, who is 9 but looks 12, complaining bitterly that his brother and sister both got to ride in a stroller, so why didn't he get to?  He finally climbed into on during our lunch break on afternoon, and promptly fell asleep.  He looked so ridiculous, with these great big long legs all hanging out of the bottom like a full-grown man.  So what did I do?  I had Matthew push him around for a bit until he woke up, and took pictures!  Ha!  Funny thing is that he didn't complain anymore for the rest of the trip, and I would say he is mightly lucky that those pictures aren't on this very website as we speak! Rachel, who is 2, gave us the very least trouble.  The opposite of what I expected, so go figure! She was a complete angel, just riding quietly in her stroller.  I think it was mostly due to sensory overload, but I'll take it, whatever the reason.  She was also petrified of the characters... and the parades... and the rides... and the marching bands.... and....ooh, now I see why she was so quiet!  She was hoping I wouldn't remember she was there and whip her into the arms of some princess. (ok, ok... I actually did do this after  standing in line for 20 minutes to meet "Sweeping Booty", only to find out that she was scared to death of her as well.)  Suffice it to say that at day's end, we were all spent, and each day was better than the day before.  Both boys got picked to go on stage to "train to be a jedi" at the Star Wars show at Hollywood Studios!  I think that shall be remembered as the happiest moment of Matthew's childhood!  Nicholas liked it very well, but mostly just wanted to ride all of the rollercoasters, as well as he and I's personal favorite, "Hollywood Tower of Terror!"  It was so fun!  Scarey fun, but fun!!!

Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by!  Here I plan to combine three of my favorite things: my family, photography, and writing.  If time and energy allow, I will be able to document more thoroughly the  goofines of our day-to-day life.  My kids keep me hopping, which is good, since that is my best manner of movement on my lame foot!  The hubby and I are so very blessed to have three little monkeys: Nicholas (9), Matthew (5), and Rachel (2 1/2).  Add to them our two puppy dogs, Cookie and Chi Chi, and our "fish-who-just-won't-die", Sparky, and we make up a bonafide circus, complete with popcorn in our sofa cushions. (That sounds like an euphemism for someone who doesn't have it all together..."That poor dear. Tsk, tsk, tsk. She has 'popcorn in her sofa cushions.'"  Well, take it from someone who definitely is guilty of that!  It's not a party, or especially a circus, until the popcorn is spilled.  So I hope you enjoy the tales of my "Three Ring Circus."  And hey... why doncha go pop some corn?

I miss you guys and feel like that horrible family member whom you speak to on that RARE occasion.  Great pix from Disney.  We took the gang last year and I was such a sap I cried when the kids stood in awe of Cinderella's castle.  Mom always told me to wait til the kids were at least 5 or 6 to subject ourselves to Disney but I beg to differ.  I am glad I did not listen and took them when I did.  Yes we all had our meltdowns at different times but I would not trade it for anything.  Mom kept telling me that I cried for her or Dad to carry me throughout the park.   What, they didn't have those great blue strollers in the 70's?  And on top of that there was only the Magic Kingdom.  There was no 12 day Hopper pass and multiple parks to choose from!!!  Boy, what whimps!!!  Tell everyone hello for me and kiss those beautiful children of yours.  Love and miss you, Jeanene

Great photos and thanks for sharing!

Ashley’s circus left today – been here since Monday, and, we had a ball! They surely can eat a lot, but are so polite and well behaved. We’re very proud of them.  Sure kept busy non-stop and imagine we’ll just pass out in bed tonight.

love
