Welcome to the Organizing Portal for the "Casita Girasol"
The North Bay Institute of Green Technology students are seeking to build collaborative public-private partnerships with professionals, employers, trade and labor organizations, small and large businesses and members of the community-at-large that are interested in contributing time and the needed resources to build a 117-square foot tiny house "Casita" that will serve as an 800 hour 'hands-on" introduction to green building excercise for our students.
When built it will serve as an Clean Energy traveling demo tiny home and instructional hands-on lab will be taken to schools, community centers, trade shows and fairs to educate the community about multiple energy conservation alternatives such solar and wind power, rainwater catchment, and much, much more. The students will also participate in explaining their role in building the tiny house and how the green technologies work.
About our Tiny House - "Casita Girasol"
Because it's on wheels, the tiny house is considered a load on a travel trailer, and does not require a building permit. We will pretty much put it anywhere you can place an RV.
