Photography Show at Museum 2011
The Museum is offering the Club another Spring Photography Show again this year. The Theme will be "Birds" celebrating the coming of Spring.
Interested members and/or non-members are encouraged to enter up to 4 pieces for the show, and should be delivered to the Museum ready to hang by May 7th. I will post the Opening Reception details as soon I as receive them.

Welcome NEMI Photography Enthusiasts
Welcome to what will hopefully be the newly formed NEMI and area Photography Club website! If you are interested in having a club in town, please contact Sheryl Wilkin at semara@sympatico.ca, so that I can add you to the site, and determine how much interest there is.
Here you'll find member photos and the techniques behind them.
The hope is that the members will learn more about their hobby/passion, and share their results with the group, so that they can learn as well. We hope to have regularly scheduled group outings for nature/landscape photography, as well as speakers come for information/teaching sessions.
Check the message boards for new challenges/techniques being discussed at the meeting, and post your results.
The download option has been disabled on the site to prevent unauthorized downloading of your photos, but please feel free to watermark your photos if you choose.

Looking for identification
Hi :
Does anyone know what kind of insect this is? It was sitting atop the hydro line at work, you can see it as a bulge on the hydro line. I have never seen anything so big and so "ugly"....lol..

If you have a macro lens, it's a great way to get up close and personal to some tiny little creatures. Let's see them!
If you need some motivation and inspiration, I think these shots are great!

Great photos everyone!
The Centennial Museum in Sheguiandah will be hosting a Photography Exhibit. I was hoping that we could have this exhibit be soley comprised of NEMI Photography Club members. I have provided the details of the show below. Please feel free to contact me for more info, details or ideas. hferguson@townofnemi.on.ca.

Exhibit to open: Saturday, April 17, 2010 with an opening reception from 2-4:00pm.
Artwork to be recieved no later than: Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 4:30pm.
Exhibit ends: May 25, 2010. Art pickup dates May 26,27,28, 2010.
Theme: "Spring's Splendor"
I would like to see how many participants we get. I am thinking 3 pieces of photography as of right now, until I have a better idea.

Personnally I have not got into using filters, but I would love to....so I am afraid I'm not much help to you on this subject....

Is anyone using neutral density filters. Are they difficult to get used to. I know absolutely nothing about them, but love the affect they have on the water. Your comments would be appreciated. Susie
