100 Years! Wow. What an achievement. And, what a birthday!
Few organizations or companies ever reach their centennial year. But, as you know, in 2009 the 4-H Program will celebrate 100 years. From humble beginnings in northeastern as corn growing clubs, 4-H has grown into the largest youth development program in the state.
Today's 4-H is a mirror image demographically of the youth living in between the ages of 5 & 19. We now serve more than 204,000 young people. As we begin the centennial celebration, we are excited about the opportunity to celebrate our past & to position 4-H for the future.
Whether as a 4-H professional, volunteer, youth, alumnus or supporter, each of us is excited about this opportunity to work together across the 4-H system to promote, market & share the 4-H story.
Throughout the next year, we hope that you will join us as we all find creative ways to take advantage of this celebration opportunity. Join us as we embark on the largest celebration for youth development that has ever been experienced.
If you have live stock that you would like to enter into the fair this year please start getting it ready! You have to have the paper work in by October 16th!
Start making a poster today to show off 4-h celebrating 100 years! The top two in the county will receive free entrance to the county fair!
