Less than a week left to register for the Fall into Fun 4-H Day Camp! Cloverbuds (ages 5-8) can join us for a day of learning about our environment through fun crafts and games and community service on November 1st from 9am-3pm. We will ~ paint pumpkins, learn about helping others (food drive), discuss where fall harvest foods come from, and more! Day campers are asked to bring 5 canned goods to attend that will be donated to a local food bank.
The deadline to register is Tuesday October 25th.

If you are interested in joining the Holly Shelter 4-H Shooting Sports Club, they are having a recruitement party this Saturday, August 27th from 2:00-6:00pm at the community pool located at Castle Bay in Hampstead, NC. You will have a chance to meet the current club members, learn more about the club, enjoy great food, and swim! You must be 12 years old as of Jan. 1 to join the club.

Attention teens 14-18 years old!!! Today is the last day to sign up for the Citizenship Academy on June 17th. During this class, participants will learn about being a good citizen and how local government works. Cost is only $10 and includes transportation to Lenoir County, lunch & snacks, and workshop materials. Registration form and fee are both due IN the office by 5pm today!

Would you like to learn about another culture this summer? The NC 4-H International Exchange will be hosting 20 Japanese students and 2 chaperons this summer, July 24 through August 19. Enrollment forms need to be updated every year and are due NOW! Please make sure you turn them in to your club leader or to the 4-H office as soon as possible. For your convenience, forms are available on-line at www.nc4h.org. Please click on “Procedures and Guidelines” for the Enrollment Form, Code of Conduct, and Medical Release Form. Don’t forget that the Medical Release must be notarized. If you haven’t been to the nc4h.org website in awhile, check it out… they have a new look!
